INTRODUCTION
Along with raising pollution and environmental affection there is a greater need of such
individual who can flourish the environment along with safeguarding it (Bertauski, 2019). Since
I have keen interest towards the environment and its glorification, so I want to and I will choose
landscape designer as a profession in order to pursue my future career. This job will help me to
live my dreams in terms of making this land even more beautiful. This report will discuss the
concept of career goal path along with an analysis of primary and secondary data. Lastly this
report also contains a job advertisement regarding my concerned career along with my personal
evaluation regarding that job.
ANALYSIS AND APPLICATION
Primary research
In primary research I interviewed a famous landscape designer from school at Kirkland. I
interviewed through Email because of the situation of Covid-19. The interview that I did was
aimed at increasing my knowledge about the chosen profession that I want to pursue and I also
wanted to gain knowledge about facts and gain ideas to become a famous landscape designer and
become successful in selected profession. Questions that I asked in interview are-
 What is the role of this profession?
 How can one become famous landscape designer?
 What leads individual to get big projects?
 How a landscape designer can make people happy, is it only work or something else
related to profession?
I asked these questions in interview I received very satisfactory answers from landscape
designers (Steenson, 2017). I learned about landscape designer that their role is to design
attractive and functional landscape that includes public parks, gardens, playgrounds, residential
area and public areas. In addition to this, they also design spaces like buildings, flowers, roads,
walkways and trees within this environment. In response to my second question in interview I
was answered that creativity, hard-work and dedication are elements through which one can
become famous landscape designer. Regarding third question that is about getting big projects
landscape designer responded that in order to get big project one firstly have to start with small
projects and it is very important that small projects that one do are attractive and successful that
will lead landscape designer to get big projects. Regarding ability of landscape designer in

making people happy only their work and attractiveness of the landscape that they create can
make people happy. In this it is very important that choices and preferences of people who are
likely to use landscape are considered.
General trends that impact on profession of landscape designer
There are various trends that are being having an impact over the profession of landscape
designer. Raising the trend of globalization is one of the important and majorly impacting
element towards this profession (Shahbaz and et.al., 2018). This has raised the opportunities of
this job. Since, in order to compete with each other many companies forgot to pay for the
environment or do something for the environment. Thus, this trend has positively impacted over
this profession. This has raised the requirement of this job so that company's sustainability will
be maintained.
Along with the trend of industrialization the land has been affected at a severe scale. This
has also put impact over this profession because along with raising industries the demand of
adequate management of land has raised (Kruse and et.al., 2021). This is because along with
performing the job it is also required that the environment or the land will not be harm, so this
has again raised the future opportunities for landscape designer.
The trend of digital-transformation is also one of the major trend that has separated the
companies from the real nature. But this trend has changed and raised the employment
requirement in the field of landscape designing.
One more trend that has impacted over this profession is the requirement of land. This means
that along with raising population it becomes very difficult to manage the situation. But the
individual who are associated with this profession can help in resolving this issue. This means
that they work with such creativity that without having an impact over the land and the nature,
the situation can be handled. This involves efficient utilization of land.
Changes that are taking place in profession of Landscape Designer includes changing
preferences of users. This is the reason that they have to think through new perspectives and
understand users point of view (Aderonmu and Gbotosho, 2020). Another change taking place in
this profession is use of technology. This means that extensive and increasing use of technology
in landscape designs is affecting profession and professionals are required to have significant
knowledge of technology so that they can ensure their designs can meet changing demand of
users . Globalisation is another factor because of which changes are taking place in profession of

landscape designers. Globalisation leads to global users for a landscape and in such situation it is
important that designers consider global users and their taste and preferences while designing
landscape. It is important that designers make landscape that are attractive to global users and
visitors.
The skills / knowledge and experience required
On the basis of primary as well as secondary research certain skills and
knowledge/expertise areas have been identified that are required for success in profession of
landscape designer (Kang, 2021). This is because in order to successfully complete tasks and
activities of given profession it is very important that one possess adequate skills and knowledge.
This includes personal skills that one needs to be successful in a profession as well as profession
specific knowledge and expertise. Personal skills for a landscape designer includes-
Active Listening- This is ability of individual in which they are required to listen carefully while
providing adequate attention. Active listening includes understanding what speaker is saying as
well as what they are not able to say. It is important that in order to understand requirement of
clients landscape designers are good listener.
Creativity- This is also an important personal skill for landscape designers that they are required
to think creatively. This means thinking something different or out of the box which has not been
considered by someone else.
Effective Communication Skill- This is also very important skill that includes ability to
effectively communicate through which one can influence others.
Critical Thinking- This involves thinking from different perspectives to understand positive as
well as negative sides of a plan or design that landscape designer prepares. This is very important
for identifying problems and their solution.
Effective writing skill- This is because writing report is included in their general
responsibilities.
Areas of knowledge and expertise
Home and garden landscaping- This is one of the area of expertise that involves that landscape
designers are able to create attractive designs for home and garden (Smallwood, 2020).
Expertise in using computer and designing tools- This is important area of expertise because
landscape designers are required to use computer and technology for creating designs.

EVALUATION
I have interest in this job role because I want to explore my career as a landscape
designer. I want to make this beautiful land even more beautiful and glorious. This job will
enable me to explore my level of knowledge along with helping me to flourish my career as a
landscape designer. In addition, of that the reason behind having an interest towards this job is its
specification and requirement. As this job promotes creativity and communication along with a
major requirement of graduate and post-graduate individual. Being holding a degree of
graduation and post graduation and possessing best and creative style of working this job has
attracted me the most.
Since I want to work in such industry that is concerned with this beautiful land so this job
is very similar to my dream job and my profession. As this job is being concerned with landscape
architecture so by choosing this job my profession regarding landscape designing will get a new
path.
Before choosing this job opportunity I found many other job but the reason behind
choosing this particular job is my interest. This means that I expect and dreams that this job will
make my passion and interest come true. As I have keen interest in performing job in such sector
whereby I can contribute towards the earth in terms of implementing sustainability concept and
various other. This job will helps me in living my dream along with making them come true.
Yes this job is one of the new and emerging job with high future and career benefits, this
is because along with rising trend of globalization and industrialization the level of pollution and
environmental degradation is a very common phenomenon. So this job is one of the best job that
allows an individual to do something for the environment and the landscape or the earth. Yes this
is a job that has better career and future proofed because this job is one of the trending job along
with high career opportunities. Since, with the trend of raising environmental degradation and
industrial activities there is a greater need of such individual and job by which companies can
along with performing their routine work would also being able to do and contribute towards the
environment. This job will helps the companies to perform their social and environmental
responsibilities. So it would not be wrong to said that this is one of the most emerging and
trending job nowadays and in future times also.
