Introduction
Sophie Hardach in her article “The best age to learn a foreign language” has
introduced the importance to learn the language at an early stage. In this article, Sophie has
described how this age is the most effective to learn a language (Hardach, 2019). This article
also provides a few scientific approaches to learning a foreign language. Science mostly
offers how different stages of life have various advantages of learning a language. Apart from
that, this article also provides a proper viewpoint of some wealth factors which are very
relevant to learn a language, like the methods of teaching , the social circumstances, and the
most important thing that is love or friendship. This cordial relationship affects the people
that how many languages they speak with accuracy and fluency. Sophie has also given an
example of explicit learning. She has said that the young children are not good enough at
explicit learning, as they do not have the memory of capable understanding along with
cognitive control. But the study in Israel has found that the adults were the better performers
than young adults at grasping in a language learning process. In this article, she has described
so many facts that are relevant to learn a language. Apart from that, by this article, Sophie has
also motivated people to learn a foreign language as it is the most significant advantages to
communicate or to interact with more people.
Analysis
The primary motive to write this article is to make the people aware about the
importance of learning a new foreign language. Sophie has described in this article that how

The target audience of the author are the school children along with the people who
are willing to learn a new language apart from their native language (Hardach, 2019). A
scientist has distributed the age according to the section or group. The first section of students
have 8years of age, the second section has 12 years, and the third section of students are the
young adults.
The supporting points that have been used by the author to build the thesis are
presented through secondary researched. For example, the author has mentioned that a study
of Israel has shown that young adults can perform better than the other groups. Sophie has
introduced some different points while going to work on this thesis. Scholars have mostly
highlighted the fact that adults mostly have a better grasping ability than children.
Here, in this article, the secondary resources have been used. All the data that have
been used here are basically scholarly articles which have made this article a better form of
understanding the age in which a foreign language can be learned. This research does not
employ the use of primary research.
Relevance and Applicability:
After analyzing the article, it can be said that this article is very effective and
beneficial for all individuals. Learning a foreign language not only enhances the ability of an
individual to interact with the people from a different nation but also it helps to develop the
personal skill of that individual (Hardach, 2019).
This finding also helps me to enhance my communication level; as I have learned a
foreign language that is Spanish, which is a widely spoken language in the world. I have
started interacting with those people who are basically from those Spanish speaking

countries. Therefore, I would like to recommend this article to all my acquaintances along
with the students of all the future generations because learning a foreign language can
enhance their communication level to interact with many people which is very fruitful for
every society.
Learning a foreign language can have a massive impact on society, mostly on the
students, who are willing to go to various nations/counties for their educational purpose. This
article also motivates the students to learn a foreign language.
