Language and Culture: Report on Rocker Discussion Analysis and Results

Discussing exchange in terms of input and interaction between the conversation of two
housemates
Cited case scenario presents that two housemates are conversing with each other
regarding rocker. In the given scenario A belongs from America and other one namely B is Thai.
In their conversation concept of foreigner talk has been used as they are sharing views by using
simplified version of language. Moreover, foreigner talk implies for the language that native
speakers undertake for addressing some aspects to non-natives (Foreigner Talk, 2019). With
regards to the case given, individual from America used simple language while giving
information to Thai person about rocker. Along with this, aspect pertaining to conversational
modification can also be seen in talking of A and B. As, it can be seen in the case that Thai
person was not actually getting about rocker. In this regard, American individual presented to B
(Thai person) that rocker is like chair, with no wheels, which can be used for the purpose of
sitting and moving back. In addition to this, feedback has also been taken by Thai person from
American individual about the place where rockers available.

By doing assessment, it has identified that in the conservation of two university students
is recognized as a mediator. Moreover, C entailed that rocker can be bought from second hand
shop situated in town. Hence, mediator can be presented as one of the individual who work out
on problem that occurs during process. On the other side, self-regulation implies for the
progression pertaining to learn second language. In this, Thai is making efforts in relation to
learning and understanding aspects presented by American. Further, scaffolding may be
presented as a contextual support which is given to other through the means of undertaking
simple language (Scaffolding Academic Learning for Second Language Learners, 2020). In the
given conversation, A gave support to Thai person about rocker by using simple terms or
language. The reason behind this, when B confused with rocker in the context of wheels then
American one used simple language. He entailed that by using rocker one can sit, move back and
forth. Thereafter, B understood about rocker and then asked further question about the place
where its available. Thus, by taking into account all such aspects language and related concepts
play a significant role in others learning and development.
