1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This project is based on the development of an underwater museum in Lanzarote, Spain. In this museum, art
specimens will be kept on display and the tourists will need to get into scuba diving kits and dive
underwater to see the specimens in the museum.
2. BUSINESS OBJECTIVE
2.1. Business Need/Opportunity/Objectives
The main business need for the project is to develop a major tourist attraction in the area. The main
objective behind the project is to earn significant amount of revenue through tourism.
2.2. Product Description
The product will be an underwater museum with some art specimens that will be in display for the tourists.
This museum will be major tourist attraction and will earn high amount of revenue through ticket sales.
2.3. Deliverables
The main deliverables of the project are:
 An underwater museum
 Underwater safety system
 Food stalls around the site Tour guide stalls
2.4. Product Acceptance Criteria
The main acceptance criteria include significant attraction of the tourists from around the world. This will
be reflected from the amount of revenue generated annually.

2.5. Project Constraints
The project constraints are as follows.
 Underwater construction process might be very difficult.
 The specimens may get eroded due to chemical reaction with water. Budget might be a constraint as this museum is the first of its kind.
2.6. Project Assumptions
The assumptions are listed as follows.
The project will be completed within the selected timeframe.
The construction will be possible under the water.
Sufficient protections will prevent erosion of the materials
3. SCOPE STATEMENT
3.1. What’s in
The main scope of the project is to construct an underwater museum at the selected site in Lanzarote, Spain.
The scope of the project also includes the following items.
Survey of the underwater site
Excavation of the underwater site for building foundation of the museum
Placement of art pieces and specimens at specific points in the museum
Installation of emergency disaster relief and safety equipment

On the other hand, the following have been excluded from the project scope.
 Preparation of business plan for attracting tourists
 Hiring of human resources for maintenance of the museum
 Protection and security of the museum and the specimens in it
4. HIGH LEVEL WBS
The team meetings regarding the planning of the project must be completed within 7/10/14 after which,
once the approval is received, the project will be initiated. An overall estimated budget has been set at
$12,500,000 that should not be exceeded by significant margin. A high level WBS for the project has been

5. RISKS

The major risk is that there will be
underwater construction process
involved and as a result, the workers may
have life threatening risk for a number of
reasons.
During the construction work, it is
needed to ensure the workers are
provided with oxygen suits with no
leakage and also emergency evacuation
system to pull the workers out of water

may not be granted for the project.
