Q 1. Why investment in a Laptop is being considered much worthy rather than investing in a
Television now a days by the young generation?
Answer: In todays modern era young generation finds it much important to have a Laptop rather than
having a television at Home. There are numerous reasons behind this choice primarily seen amongst the
young generation of modern India, few of which are discussed hereunder.
The very first reason can be said as the change of taste and preferences. It’s because once upon a time
spending spare time by watching television was considered as the primary source of entertainment. But
now a days the young generation has been found great interest in earning money at the early age of
their life. Hence they know that if they buy a laptop then it can contribute in terms of generating
revenue for them too as now a days a lot of online jobs are being offered that can be taken only if a
personal Laptop with net connection is available. Moreover they have lost interest in watching the
programmes or serials or news broadcasted on the television. It is because all these programmes can be
seen on Laptop even only if the net connection is available. In other words, Laptop has multifarious use,
but the Television can used for single purpose only. Television is also not portable, but due to its
portability and lightweight young people prefer the same. Third, having a Laptop has now become a
status symbol like Mobile, but Television is almost found in every house.
Again in the era of internet Television did not show or take new ideas so as to assure its future survival.
The revolution introduced by Jio brand of Reliance group has made the net accessible to the remote
villages of the country as a result of which the difference between a rural and Urban Youth of the
country has been given a total end. Now the awareness amongst the rural youth for their better future
can be easily seen in this new India. Hence the demand for the Laptop in the rural India too has
increased to a great extent.
It has become popular amongst the students too who want to use it for completion of the academic
assignment for which earlier they had to resort to their parents or on some private tutors. The concept
of virtual learning classes has made it possible which can be used by having a Laptop.
Having the Laptop has made it possible for the young generation to make shopping while sitting at home
that not only save their time, but also provide the multiple options in terms of selection of items and the
choice of online vendor. This somewhere has proved itself as a new way of enjoyment for them. As on a
single click they can procure whatever they want at their doorstep.

Hence all of the above reasons are sufficient enough to justify the investment made in Laptop rather
than wasting money in buying Television.
