2FOUNDATION OF INFORMATION SYSTEM
Introduction
The business organizations, irrespective of the size of the business follows several
systems that has to collect information and data throughout the business progression and also
the storing and sharing of data. The previous ways by which the business organizations used
to handle the projects were to manually handle the data that the business generated
(Kostalova, Tetrevova & Svedik, 2015). For this chosen case, the organization Latureae is a
health and wellness care organization that deals with the manufacturing, distribution and
advisory board for the people in Australia. The organization focuses on to the services that
the business prepares to provide the people; however, the business has a lot of strategical
objectives that they are intending to serve the customers with. The strategical objectives are
also looking forward to the improvisation of the organization to handle the business. One of
the most important implementation that the organization identifies is the introduction of the
information system to manage the business information (Jöhnk et al., 2017). The objective of
this report is to make sure that the synthesis of the business requirements is offered with a
number of tested and verified solutions with the addressing of the limitations that has been
identified as the shortcomings of the business problems. The mitigation strategy of the
business issues would be presented as well as the agile applications of strategy. The
recommendations of further business enhancement would follow.
Background information
The organizations of Latureae is a health and wellness service provider for the people
in Australia. It has been essentially described in the first part of the assessment that there
were several activities listed in the business model (Hobbs & Petit, 2017). The evaluation of
the business model was done with the help of the Porter’s value chain model to find out the
primary and the secondary operational activities of the organization. This was done to find

out how the organization have been developing the business and its associated activities to
reach the goal in providing the services to the people in Australia.
Primary Key of the scenario: The primary key of the scenario includes the desire of
the business to set up the best possible marketing scheme to reach the target audience through
the establishment of the operational activities anew. Since it has been an ambition of the
organization to be the one-stop health and wellness care company for the organization, the
marketing of the organization was extremely required (Ribeiro & Domingues, 2018). This
would have made the organization be desirable to the target audience. The secondary tasks
that the organization has were to focus on how these could aide to the fulfilment of the
primary tasks. The first set of analysis of the business figured out how the organization used
to continue with the business activities and how the business had subtasks selected for both
primary and secondary business activities.
Supportive Key: According to the analysis done, it was clear that the primary
activities included the medical services to be provided to the customers and it also included
the services and the conveniences supplied to the people in the society. Now, the supportive
key activities included the manufacturing department were to be focused and the marketing
of the organization was required at the same time enabling the automated information system
(Krawatzeck, Dinter & Thi, 2015).
Linking between the keys: The set of objectives that the business had set were all
related to the manufacturing, marketing and medical advisory services as per the information
provided by the primary and the supportive key. However, it would have been much better if
the business information system and their automated form helped the business organization in
amalgamating the entire business process contemplating both the activities of the primary
task and the secondary task. With the primary activity being the provision of the medical

facilities and services and the secondary activities being the creation of the frameworks, the
creation of the marketing activities for having the interactive relationship enhanced between
the supplier and the customer (Bormane et al., 2016). The following sections will include the
identification of the issues that might be in the system due to the inclusion of the business
objectives and activities.

Identified business problems
According to the value chain model and the business activities that is required for the
business has several impending issues that might cause problem to the actual objectives that

the business is looking forward to achieve (Baham et al., 2017). The Porter Value Chain
Model that has represented the demonstration of how the primary and secondary activities of
the organization would be amalgamated for the utility of the business objectives. However,
there by no means have the implementation of the information system suggested to the
organization and their business objectives. The issues that the organization can have due to
the implementation of the systems for amalgamating the primary and the secondary processes
(Lang, 2017). It can also be added that the business management, documentation handling
and the business information management would be critical to manage if the day to day
business activities are going to be managed by the manual data processing. Thus, the business
practise that Latureae is focusing at can have several challenges, considering the business
objectives that is being focused at. The business is looking forward to enhancement in the
business process and the expansion of the business to provide the best possible results and
services to the customers, which would be extremely problematic to handle if they are done
by manual information handling.
Following would thus be the identified problem according to the situation that
Latureae is in and the process that the organization is aiming for the betterment of the
business:
Shortage of spaces: One of the most common problems with the current
systems about the Latureae organization is the shortage of space for the
storage of business information. Since, the organization want to have an online
solution regarding all the business solutions, it is an inevitable fact that they
are looking forward to the inclusion of the system for providing their services
(Simonofski et al., 2018). However, it would be extremely difficult to manage
the system space, if the automated information system is not implemented.
The system spaces are physical and bound by a limited storage space. The

proper way of handling and storing the files would be much difficult if they
are not handled with an automated process.
The scope of mismanagement and mishandling: The handling of the
increased amount of business data as per the current Latureae business
objectives have been focused on the new systems that should be implemented
for the overall focus on the provision of services throughout Australia. The
prediction of the business expansion focuses on the information generation
and handling to be increasing from time to time (Sindhwani & Malhotra,
2016). The amount would increase and so it would be prone to several
malfunctions regarding the misplacement of the business data. The handling of
the business information misplaced would be facing a lot of problems since
information is considered to be the primary asset of a business. A misplaced
information can result into several forms of loss to the business, both in terms
of the clients and the monetary losses.
Increased access time: One of the major issues that the organizations have to
face in handling huge business information is about the access times when the
number of business information is increased (Sharp & Lang, 2019). The
organizational storage is looking forward to have an expansion by gathering
the customer base all around Australia and it is to be mentioned that the
information storage would increase randomly. Therefore, the physical storage
would become too complicated to handle the accessing or retrieval of a desired
information storage. Thus, the management of the information would take up
too much time while the information is to be handled with the technological
advancements.

7FOUNDATION OF INFORMATION SYSTEM
High management cost: The management of information in case of Latureae
organization would be extremely costly given the technology it is looking
forward to implement (Dhir, Kumar & Singh, 2019). It is understandable that
the information storage would take up time for the management of information
with the physical management sources. The number of storage systems would
increase and bear more complexity. This will ultimately result in high
maintenance cost.
Mitigation strategies for having solutions for the business problems
The analysis of all the information storage related problem and management of
information leads to the understanding of the information system that would lead to the
downfall of the organization in the long run. It would be better if the automated agile
information system is implemented to the management of the Latureae organization. The
handling of the business information would be much better if the understanding of the
problem is addressed and the agile methodologies for the system is implemented (Rasnacis &
Berzisa, 2017). Since, the information system that the organization has is recommended to be
handled by man-made processes, it is to be ensured that the increase in the number of
business information would not affect the handling the information system.
In every organization, the industrial automation requires to follow the information
management system with the agile methodology. The agile practise, as the name suggests, is
a flexible form where the continuous development and iterations procedure would provide the
organization a better development and testing activity. The idea behind this suggestion is due
for providing the organization with all the reasonable recommendations to mitigate the issues
that the previously suggested business system wanted to implement. Having an automated
system would save the problem of mismanagement of data, wrong handling of the business

information even if the number of the business information increases and also the
maintenance cost and time would be easier to handle.
Devised strategy according to the business problem with agile methodology
The strategy that should be put together as a business plan for providing the best
possible solution to the issues that the business is facing at this moment. There can be the
implementation of the following strategy such that Latureae would have the best strategy for
the implementation of the automated information system with the help of agile methodology
(Soe & Drechsler, 2018). Now, agile methodology is suggested for this implementation as it
has been mentioned specifically before that the management of the information system and
its foundation should be flexible enough. This is because, if there are any issue found at any
stage during the implementation, there can be changes made during the progression of the
project without halting the project at any time.
The idea behind the agile implementation strategy lies in the development of a team,
consisting of developers, product managers, project facilitators and the stakeholders, so that
all of them have an idea about the vision of the implementation plan (Nuottila, Aaltonen &
Kujala, 2016). The analysis understands the required scenario under which every person has
to work to reach the required goal and the business scenario would be clear to all. The agile
system is selected so that each of the stages would check the quality of the implementation
such that is remains of the standard quality without affecting the project further.
Limitations of the chosen methodology
There are few limitations to the agile implementation methodology as these would be
presented as below:
Document Page
9FOUNDATION OF INFORMATION SYSTEM
The implementation plan is less predictable and sometimes do not quantify the
actual extent at which the efforts would be required (Martins & Zacarias,
2017).
It demands extensive time and commitment.
The expectations of the clients start to increase and the developers have
increased demands as well.
The necessary documentation planning may fall off guard quite easily.
Conclusion
Therefore, in conclusion, it can be said that as per the business objectives of Latureae,
there is a requirement that the organization includes the automated information system
developed by the agile methodologies. The analysis of the business requirement has been put
together from the previous analysis of the initial requirements which provides an overview of
the business objectives and what the business is looking forward to. Based on the business
requirement for Latureae and the services that it wants to provide the organization with, the
suggested methods would be the best for the system. To justify the suggestion, the analysis of
the issues related to the current business and the mitigation strategy for the same has also
been suggested. With this, it was clear about the implementation of the strategies that were
needed for the development of business and why agile methodology for automated
information system implementation is required. However, on the basis of this analysis, the
limitations of the recommendations have also been described to understand what the business
requires and what are the further scopes of the continual improvement for the Latureae
organization.
