INTRODUCTION
Legal System can be explained as the regulation and laws of a nation and the way in
which they are required to be interpreted and implemented for everyone. There are mainly four
types of legal system such as civil law, criminal law, common law and religious law. In context
of the file, the discussion will be related with different agencies which are working for the
purpose of criminal justice. There will be similarities and difference between the agencies which
are delivering the justice. Even discussion will related with criminal rates and effectiveness.
Also, file will include the evaluation on the ways for measuring the effectiveness of these
statistics. The two criminal justice agencies of which will be included in this file are The Police
and The Ministry of Justice.
MAIN BODY
P5 Role of Criminal Justice agencies and similarities and difference between these agencies and
how they support each other.
There is a huge role of criminal justice agencies who are working from for the better of
nation since many decade. It is important that these role and power are distributed to multiple
agencies because it is not easy to manage this task with the help of individual body. Here, the
choose agencies are Police and Ministry of Justice. In context of Police, they are the most
powerful agencies through which criminal activities have been reduced in big numbers. The role
police is to overview the situation and try to find the best solution. Here, House of parliament
have given the power to theses agencies so that unnecessary activities can be controlled. There
are around 43 police forces within England and Wales who have the responsibility to investigate
the crime and collect all those evidences through which legal action can be taken against
defaulter (Crime and policing in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, 2018). They have the role
to check whether people are obeying the rules and regulation which have been commenced
through the Act of Parliament.
While talking about Ministry of Justice they have the huge role which need to be played
by them at the time when any kind of criminal activities are found. Here, they need the help of
other agencies who can investigate the case for solving the issues which have been raised against
the agencies. It is also the heart of justice system in United Kingdom. The main duty of ministry
of justice to try that how justice system can be managed in the systematic manner. There are 33

different agencies and public bodies who is supporting to this department (Ministry of Justice,
2019).
There are lots of similarities in both of the agencies because it they work for the welfare
of society. They bothy try to focus that how criminal activities can be reduces in future and for
that they try to find the actual reason behind attempting the crime. While discussing about
differences, they both have different roles where police try to find the person who have
attempted the crime where as ministry-of-justice try to conclude criminal case on the basis of
facts which have been presented in front of them (Barkan, Bintliff and Whisner, 2015). But the
main thing for this both agencies is that, they support each other to find the actual reason person
who are involved in the criminal actives so that it can be reduced in future. As, they both work
for the common objective it is important that how they take decision with mutual understanding
because it can play huge role.
P6 Effectiveness of criminal agencies on criminal rates and volume of crime.
These both are those criminal agencies which had done lots of those work through which
positive result can be obtained. In UK, both of these bodies have shown their positive intent
towards their duty so that desire goals and result can be obtained when it is required. It can also
be seen that criminal rates have been reduces in significant manner due to which general public
can work as per their desire. These agencies always try to come up with new ideas and plans
through which activities can be reduced. The main reason behind their effectiveness is working
policies under which they work. The criminal rate in misuse of compute had been reduced by
30% which is one of the greatest achievement that has been achieved by the criminal agencies
i.e. Police and The ministry-of-justice (Crime Record in UK, 2018). Even it can be easily said
that if these agencies can continue to work in this manner then it will be easy for them to reduce
the number of criminal activities in future.
P7 How this statistics and data can be used to measure justice and helped to formulate policies.
The data and statistics which have been collected by different agencies for the purpose of
maintaining peace within the premisses of UK will be helpful. As, data will try to know exactly
that what are the major problems which are still required to be solved and how they can be
solved. It will help the ruling government that whether previously implemented policies where
helpful or not and if not then what can be be the best solution to solve the issue which is related
with the criminal activities. It will help to evaluate that whether policies are effective or not and

does it have the positive impact or negative impact which is the main point which is to be find
out by these agencies (Black, 2018).
M2 Explore and evaluate the different ways of measuring the effectiveness of statistics.
It is not that easy to find that whether policies which have been implemented are useful or
not but it is necessary find out the actual news about it. It is necessary that the policies which
have been helping or not and it id this policies are not helpful then how it can be changed. The
best way to evaluate any of the law is to check past and present results which can clear out the
figure regarding it is effectiveness. Even it can be evaluated with the help of public review
because that is the main source through which it can be checked that whether laws which have
been commenced are helpful or not and if it not not then what can be done in future (Raz, 2017).
It is necessary to check whether criminal activities have been prevented or not and whether rights
justice is being done or not. The data can actually help to prevent this problem as changes can be
done easily if there is any requirement.
D2 Are these agencies and their statistics, accurate and up to data?
Form the data and results which have been been obtained are up to date because those are
the only primary source through which issues can be solved. It is very important that data which
have been obtained are correct because the steps which are to be taken in future will be
completely reliable on it. Police and Ministry of justice are the recognised agencies which need
to maintain all the records which are related to criminal activities. The stats which have been
calculated are based on the entries of data which have been done by the government agencies.
So, it can be easily understood that these data and statistics are real based which are collected
from the facts which have been received by different agencies (Tushnet, 2017).

CONCLUSION
It can be easily concluded that law and legal system are very essential at present scenario
because they are the one who guides the people that work need to be done. Here, Parliament
have divided the work for different agencies who need to work for reducing the rate of criminal
activities on regular basis. It can be seen that although various agencies have been introduced but
all of them have the similar objectives and many of their characteristics match with each other.
There are lots of work which can be done only if other agencies help to find the evidences.
Government try to collect the information to know whether the laws which have been enforced
are helpful or not and they are not helpful then what can be done future. It is necessary that the
data and statistics which are collected by different agencies should be accurate so that corrective
measures can be taken on time.
