Introduction
Cosmetic based surgery in Asian countries aims on improvement of many morphologic
characteristics of patients that are not happy with the self-image.
Laws and Regulations in Asia
The aesthetic practices are based on the treatment or procedures which aims to change the
appearance or structure of the body features. The focus is on the regulations where in 2012, there
are laser or IPL treatments about the lack of specific regulations that tend to govern the business
operations of the service providers. The sector focus on the Specification of Competency
Standards under the Qualification Framework (Yu, 2016).
According to this journal, there must be a reform the current set of laws in the industry because
of the rise of people awareness which was caused from DR beauty chain case. With this, there is
a need of improvement in the education for the institutions and consumers to measure the
operator, equipment and devices with the regulations from different countries. (Hong Kong
Medical Journal, 2012).
According to the Consumer Council, (2016), there are different medical beauty services which
are mainly set to regulate medical services that involve the countries like Korea, Singapore etc.
The main finding is about the improvement and protection of consumer when the services are not
legitimate. There are highlights about taking actions for assuring that public is protected.
Effects and causes of the laws in Asia
The effects and causes of the laws is based on reform which is patient safety. In England the
Care Standards Act 2000 need that practitioners work in private with proper procedures and

establishment. Here, the effects are based on the aesthetical forms of the surgical acts which had
to be performed by the plastic surgeons. This is set regarding the quality and safety which tends
to stipulate an obligation for the 15-day reflection period. the effects are also on the
promulgation, in China, where there are specific personnel qualifications and stipulate scope of
service. The risks include the anaesthetic procedures in Asia, where the people in different Asian
countries must focus on patient specific factors with the focus on health status. Some of the
effects of short term measures are warranted with Public Education that tends to serve the public
with potential beauty parlour customers. the regulations aim to focus on the omissions,
aggressive commercial practices and the wrongly accepted payments. The public should also not
just put the responsibilities on the government (Research office of the information services
division legislative council secretariat, 2014).
The improvement should be for the Hong Kong beauty services which have a major impact on
the medical practices. Here, the major aim is to focus on the impact in the community out of the
clinic or hospital practice.
Conclusion
The concept of self-image is highly impacted by opinion of people, norms and trends in the
specific time and society.
