Research aim:
“To analyse the impact of COVID-19 on the performance and productivity of retail
industry”. A study on Asda
Rationale for the topic
In the present time, Covid-19 has affected on the businesses in an adverse manner and
mainly retail industry. One of the main reason to conduct this study is to analyse the influence of
COVID-19 on the productivity and performance of retail industry (Rumeser and Emsley, 2018).
In addition to this, it will help researcher to know about the issues faced by retail company and
the strategies they adopt to deal with these problems effectively. The present study will help
researcher in learning and improving skills that is effective communication, time management,
data collection, data analysis and many more.
Research Objectives:
 To analyse the issues faced by Asda due to Covid-19.
 To determine the influence of COVID-19 on the performance and productivity of Asda.
 To examine the strategies adopted by Asda to deal with the situation of COVID-19.

Process of project management
Project management plan is related with inclusion of different aspects in context to manage
the study in an effective manner. The aspects are given below:
Time: It is one of the significant aspect of project management that help researcher to complete
the investigation in an effective and timely manner (Haidabrus, Grabis and Protsenko, 2021).
Along with this, timeline is regarded as important element that is set by investigator of each and
every activity.
Cost: The cost is undertaken as an expense that are required to carry out study. In addition
to this, the appropriate allocation of funds are required within the study so that research can be

implemented in an effective and smooth manner. For the present study, £800 is taken so that
every activity is executed in a proper manner.
Scope: The project scope is associated with managing features and functions of study. The
present study consist of wide scope as it help an organisation to analyse the impact of Covid-19
on performance due to which effective strategies can be developed to deal with it (Hermano and
Martín-Cruz, 2019).
Resources: The resources are basically the support system that is adopted within an
investigation to execute all the activities and manage it properly. There are various resources
required such as men, machine and other resources. By the help of this, investigator is able to
attain research objectives in a timely and significant manner.
Work Breakdown structure
It is defined as a project management tool which includes step-by-step approach to complete
the project. In addition to this, it help in categorising the large activity in smaller task which is
easy to implement and complete as well (Hermano, 2021). The work breakdown structure of
