Autocratic leadership: In this type of style leaders rely on coercion and thus it is characterised
by command, compliance and arbitrariness. Leaders take decision without consulting or
involving team members. Thus followers are expected to only follow the instruction of the
leaders without giving any opinion on it. It is beneficial as it ensure that tasks are completed on
time, however it may result in lack of innovation or creativity.
Democratic: This leadership style utilises legitimate power and thus team members have equal
contribution in decision making process. This type of leaders respect the participation and
opinion of team members as well and thus it enhances the creativity and morale of employees
within organisation. Though it can slow down the decision making process but it gives
productive outcomes.
Laisse Faire leadership: With this leadership style, leaders gives maximum freedom to their
followers. With this style leaders provide great development opportunities to develop themselves
as they get equal chance to function independently (Bain and Kleinknecht, 2016). However with

this style leader need to be highly controllable so that organisational objectives are not
compromised in the process of individual development within teams.

Effective leaders are very confident, honest and have good clarity about their goals and
vision. They used to inspire other team members so that they can follow leaders and can achieve
the goals. Leaders must be innovative and they must challenge the assumptions so that
productivity can be increased. For accomplishing the tasks leaders must also have good relations
and communication with the team members. Leaders have to face various complex situations and
thus they must be able to accept and use conflicts as per the situational requirements. Since
leaders have responsibility of entire team it is expected that effective leaders must have good
decisiveness skills.

enhance the profitability and cost efficiency. The sustainable innovation practices help
organisation to achieve their profitable goals with optimum use of resources. Thus if organisation
will adopt sustainable practices it will results in proper utilisation of the resources and cost
benefits. In addition to this most of the competitive organisations are shifting towards the
concept of sustainability (Adams and et.al., 2016). Thus in order to gain competitive advantage it
is mandatory for the organisation to explore the sustainable choices for innovation so that it can
enhance its brand value among its customers.
