Introduction
 Main objective of this would be to enhance the qualities of
leadership in a particular business scenario.
 Leadership is a quality that helps in directing the operations of
business towards a certain direction.
 Leadership helps in coordinating the efforts of human resources
operating in a particular organization.
 Leadership in business is also responsible for developing policies
and strategies that help in providing overall objectives to
business operation.
 Primary focus of this report will be on a particular business
scenario which involves communication with board of directors.

Leadership skill- Communication
 One of the most important skill that is required in any leader is
effective in occasion communication.
 Leaders in business can be considered as a communication
bridge between employees and board of directors.
 This is due to the fact that these leaders are responsible for
communicating strategies developed by board of directors to
employees and provide feedback received from employees to
BOD (Renz and Herman, 2016).
 Effective and efficient to communication will definitely help
leaders to understand the perspective of both the stakeholders
concerned in a particular process.

 Effective and efficient communication is required in the
communication process with board of directors as importance of
improvement in employee performance is required to be
presented.
 With the help of communication skills, leaders will be able to
communicate their own perspective about employee
performance evaluation in more effective manner.

 This will help in developing an effective narrative towards
requirement of improving employee’s performance in order to
achieve overall objectives.

important decisions in order to improve efficiency of business
operations.
 It is important to ensure that all aspects of business are
considered in decision making process.
 Use of accurate and relevant data is also one of the most
essential part of decision making process.
 It is important to take right decisions at right time and convert
opportunity is into profit for the business organisation.
 Flexible process should be used by leaders in taking any decision
for business as such decision will have long term impact on
business operations.

skill that is required to be possessed by a leader.

these ideas to board of directors.
 In order to gain confidence of BOD, leader should be able to
present his/ her ideas effectively in similar manner as they are
intended to be communicated (Thorpe, 2016).
 Presentation skills are also required in form of PowerPoint
presentation or any other kind of software presentation skills.

 Accountability refers to taking responsibility of success and even
failure of a project suggested by a leader.
 It is very important for a leader to take risk in business scenario
even when there are probability that a particular project or
strategy will be a failure.
 Leader should communicate to the board of director that
responsibility and accountability of a particular project will be in
his or her hands.
 This is skill will definitely help you in gaining trust of board of
directors and they will be positively incline towards the business
idea or strategy.

 Quality of delegation refers to the quality of a leader to distribute
the work in effective and efficient manner.
 For acquiring this quality leader is required to have effective and
efficient knowledge about to skills, experience and characteristic
of each and every team member.
 Distribution of work will be more effective if distribution is done in
accordance with the skill experience and special characteristics.

Leadership skill- Creativity and
innovation
 It is a common saying in business that innovation is a factor that
separates leaders from a follower.
 It is not essential that a particular strategy that is working for
competitive will be working for every business organization in
such industry.
 There are various internal and external factors that affect
business operations and it is responsibility of leader to identify
such factors.
 Creativity and innovation will help in identifying these factors and
developing creative ideas that will help in mitigating the negative
impact of identified factors.

Presentation to Board of Directors
 There are certain step that are required to be taken before presenting
views in relation to improving the performance of employees-
• First of all identify the measures that are currently being taken for
performance evaluation of employees.
• Evaluation of these performance evaluation methods in order to identify
their aptness.
• Comparison of standard performance with actual performance of
employees.
• Identifying the deficiency.
• Finding creative methods for improving performance of employees.
• Development of a written and detailed presentation.
• Communication to the BOD.

Conclusion
 On an overall evaluation of this presentation it can be said that
there are certain skills and characteristics that should be possessed
by a leader.
 Leadership position in business is one of the most important position
as it helps in directing operations of the company towards their
ultimate goals.
 This presentation as provided information regarding the skills that
should be possessed by leaders to make effective and efficient
communication with board of directors.
 Subject matter under consideration of this report is concerned with
requirement of improving performance of employees in business.
 Leader will be able to communicate his/ her point of view to board of
director if all the aspect of this report are followed effectively.
