Leader-member exchange model
The case study reveals that Joe is one of the great pastors, but due to some reasons, he will not
stay in the church. Due to this, new pastors should be appointed in concern to the committee so
that the pastor's role can be easily followed. Hence it is the current organizational position, and
therefore a leader-member exchange model should be adapted to overcome this kind of
organizational positions. From the case study, it is seen that Joe was a great pastor and his
absence from the firm caused various problem to the organization's behavior. Different
challenges were faced by the organization, therefore the Leader-Member exchange theory should
be used to develop the model (Breevaart, Bakker, Demerouti and van den Heuvel 2015).
According to this leader-member exchange theory firstly the organizational leaders effectively
develop various ideas, make proper decisions in accordance with the ideas and implement the
following strategies to faceplate the growth of organizational success.
In addition, with the help of this theory the leadership approach will develop and accordance
with that it also focuses on the development of the transformational model and leadership quality
respectively. Besides this, the theory also emphasis on the relationship between a leader as well
as individual followers (Harris, Li and Kirkman, 2014). Hence with the help of this theory, the
organization position can easily be changed as well as the challenges faced by the Church will
also somehow decreased. Apart from this, the theory also helps in enhancing the leader exchange
model that easily define the role of pastor and its development procedure. On the other hand,
with the help of this theory, it becomes easy to construct the respective leader-member exchange
model that defines the way by which the leaders should develop new strategies so that they can
easily manage their members (Martin, Guillaume, Thomas, Lee & Epitropaki, 2016). In other
words, after the construction of the model, it helps the leader to be one of the great pastors as
describe in the following case study.
