INTRODUCTION
Management & operations are related to some business practises which are having a
relation with how business functions have to be carried on in a effective manner. This is related
with overall process which can help in effective utilisation of available resources with the
organisation (Heizer, Renderand Munson, 2017). This report is based on Corus which is a
company dealing in steel and its headquarters are present in UK & Netherlands. There rae some
key approaches which are related with operations management and discussed in this report.

There are some approaches which are related with growth of business. In Corus there are
some approaches like Six Sigma which are important for smooth functioning of business
functions. Below mentioned are some approaches:
TQM: This is related with quality maintenance. In Corus company is focussing on
creation of a brand image which can help in survival in market for a long term period. Managers
in this company are also focussing on training their staff for executing various activity of
business.
Lean management: This is a tool which helps in reducing wastage and producing goods
which are best in quality (Gibson and Parkman, 2018). Such tools in Corus help in adopting
various tools which are related to lean management and also executing activities in a more
appropriate manner.
Six Sigma: This method is related with reducing of wastage. This is related with
adopting of technical tools such as DMAIC approach. This helps in analysis of various aspects
by defining, measuring, analysing, improving and controlling. Six sigma is a tool which helps in
solving of all the issues which arise in course of functioning of business.
