Abraham Lincoln was born on Feb 12 1809. Thomas, father of Abraham raised him as
a farmer. But Abraham had always dislike the work of farming. At the age of 20, Abraham
had interest in law and wanted to become a lawyer. Afterwards, he became interested in
politics and decided to run the political office. After the huge struggle, he placed out of the
three candidates and selected in the “Illinois house of representative.” In the history of United
States of America, several people come across the success (Williams, 2016). American nation
has also several great leaders in their history. Abraham Lincoln was one of the greatest
presidents in the history of great US president. Abraham Lincoln is one of the best US
presidents even though it is around 150 years of its assassination. He is known for the better
and positive leadership skills including the pleasant personality. The Abraham for the
betterment of the people took several good decisions (Lincoln & Keller, 2018).
Several things have helped Abraham Lincoln a great leader. In its successful
leadership story, the best thing was its ability of communication. Being a successful US
president, it is seen that the Abraham was the renowned storyteller which has involved almost
the entire audience in its story. The best quality in a successful leader is the best
communication skill for conveying the message clearly. Abraham always believed that a
leader cannot be a successful if he do not convey positive message to the people. The quality
of positivity in every situation is one such nature of Abraham. This is also seen as the quality
in the Abraham to become successful. The nature of Lincoln was open to debate as well as
criticism. It has always empowered his leadership with the help of dialogue (Williams, 2019).
As a leader, Abraham does not tends to make every decision by his own. It always
took the decision of other people to correct his mistakes. In this way, it also followed the
democratic leadership by following everyone in the decision-making. At the position of
president, it is true that there is huge number of decisions and policies to be made effectively.
In spite of this, it is able to effectively deal with the desk effectively. The quality of
successful leader is being courteous to the staff members, stakeholders, and public servant.
Abraham as a leader also always given the chance to its members for expressing themselves
before taking any decision. Besides this, he was always polite and generous with the time.
The reason behind successful leadership of Abraham is the high confident as well as the

helped once in turning the friendship with such men who prior used to oppose him. Self-
awareness as well as integrity was also included in the leadership quality of the Abraham. It
had strong belief in such principles. The confidence regarding such core principles as made

From the leadership skill of Abraham Lincoln, the biggest lesson learnt is the
motivation. He is at his best to spread and share the passion for any project. Lincoln has
always had his clear principles. In addition to this, the importance of struggle has also been
seen in the leadership career. From the leadership success of Abraham, it is also learned that
for the effective decision-making, it is quite significant to include the concerned parties in the
decision making. It is true that the success of leaders always depends on the type of
leadership style or quality he or she possess. In this way, the importance of democratic
leadership style has been seen by the leadership approach of Abraham. I have also learnt that
the dedication, loyalty, and confidence are some of the parameters in the success of any
leadership. Besides this, it is also seen leant that communication is the most significant part
of any successful leader. Without the effective communication, it is not possible to convince
huge number of audience. Therefore, an effective communication skill is most significant part
in any of the leadership position. It is because a leader is required to serve several people
rather than an individual. for the great leader, a significant struggle is required by the person.
