Running Head: LEADERSHIP
Leadership:
It is an act done by an individual with an intention to lead a group or an organization.
Such a process is done on the basis of a clear vision for the organization and such vision is
generally shared with the group or the employees of the organization to work upon the plan made
by the leader (Sendjaya et al 2016). The basic and the main role of the leader are to provide
knowledge, skills and plans to the group members and to the workers of the organization which
would help them to work efficiently towards the desired vision and plan. Furthermore, this
concept of the management has not generally been recognized explicitly utilizing the term bona
fide authority, as its foundations follow back a huge number of years (Hopkins & O’Neil, 2015).
Characteristics of leadership
It can be observed that the role of leadership is an independent process as it cannot be
learned, enhanced or monitored like the process of management. In other words, leadership is an
ability of an individual or a group of certain individuals which helps the members of the group
and other members of the organization to guide and persuade their efficiency to a new bench
mark and help them achieve their goals and targets which are purely based upon the vision and
goals of the leader (Humphrey, et al 2015). A strong leader should also possess good
communication skills which help the workers of the organization or the members of the group to
work effectively on the desired goals. Apart from having extra ordinary management skills the
leader should also have a strong management skill for the development of the organization
(Yscouts, 2018). A leader should also possess strong creative skills and should also find a new
and innovative ways of working which would help the employees in meeting the efficiency on
the task which has been allotted to them. A good leader should also be open to change as per the
current scenarios of the business environment as well he should also have the risk taking ability
for the benefit of the organization (Braun, Peus & Frey, 2018).
Application of Leadership
The authentic leadership can be applied best and analyzed in the corporate scenario. The
corporate leaders tend to bring the traits of the authentic leaders to give a swirl to the
organizations. Authentic administration has been applauded for its capacity to assemble a

different workforce (Leroy, Anseel Gardner & Sels, 2015). Legitimate authority has establishes
in Greek way of thinking, explicitly the antiquated Greek model of cardinal ethics, involving
reasonability, moderation, equity and courage (Mills & Boardley, 2017).
Critical evaluation
It can be evaluated from the different point of view ass today; valid authority implies that
pioneers organize straightforwardness and trustworthiness, while avoiding the antiquated
presumption that initiative requires acting, or a depiction of a totally unique character while at
the workplace. There have been various articles on the theme of worker commitment, what it is
and how we can improve commitment levels inside the organization. Authentic initiative can
help in such manner by giving individuals expanded opportunity and adaptability, while giving
them space to develop and create (Nichols, 2016).
Conclusion
Form the overall analysis it can be concluded that the authentic leadership tends to be
follow not only in the professional lives but it can also be inculcated in the personal lives as well
to bring the consistency as well as overall integrity. It is essential to have an authentic leadership
as one of the styles to deal with the subordinates in the most fruitful manner.
