Introduction
Leadership is one of the most important aspects of organizational success. This is because
the organization can function properly only if the employees or the leaders are getting proper
guidance under their leaders. The leaders act as the coach or the mentors who render their
support and cooperation to their employees. However, Adler, Rodman and Du Pré (2016) is of
the opinion that there have been many different kinds of changes or transformational coming in
the path of leadership. Therefore the leaders' who are working in the modern context of the
business setups have to make sure that they are abiding by the principles of leadership. I have
realized that in order to attain a good position in the future I have to become a good leader.
Eberly et al. (2017) are of the opinion that all the managers are not good leaders. Thus it is the
duty of the modern leaders to make sure that they are not carrying on with the mold and the
traditional age-old methods of leadership. Wyatt and Silvester (2018) has agreed to this context
and suggested that leaders must be able to find out what are the existing issues within the rules
that they follow. This will be helping them in finding out the best approaches that they can use
or adapt in order to make provide all kinds of support to their followers. I want to establish
myself as a leader who will be approachable to the followers and be able to support them at each
and every instance.
Current issue in leadership
Eberly et al. (2017) have suggested that it is not easy for leaders to focus on employees
working in a volatile organization. This is because the volatile organizations are the novel and
the less developed organizational set up that are likely to face many different kinds of challenges
from their competitors. Thus they have to train their followers or the employees in a proper way.

I have decided to work over the issue of changing approaches in the context of leadership. As per
my perception, modern leaders must know how to include all the team members or the followers
within her decision-making process. This will be helping them to move forward in a
collaborative and a proper united manner. Tepper et al. (2018) have suggested that in most of the
successful start-ups and even large organizations that have evolved in the modern day scenario. I
have seen that in all the modern and successful organizational setups the authority is divided
among all the different members of the organization. The power is not kept concentrated under
the hands of only the senior managers or the CEO.
Trait theory of leadership is one of the old and ancient leadership theories that is followed
by some of the companies. Eberly et al., (2017) has suggested that leaders are born and are not
made. Thus this theory is of the belief that the important and the crucial business decisions are
always to be made by the top managers of the organization. The team members or the employs
are only to follow the decisions or the rules that are being formulated and enforced by the
leaders. The hierarchical organization structure often abides by the trait theory of leadership. The
leaders are of the opinion that the employees in the lower ranks of the organization or the
workers must only abide by the decisions that are made by the top level managers. Wesfarmers is
a good example where the employees do not have a say in the business decisions as the decision
are made by the top level of the management. They follow the hierarchical system of
organizational structure. It is for this reason that they are about to bring an organizational change
where they would be giving more importance to their employees.
I feel that in order to form a proper connection with the employees' one must always
follow the transformational leadership system. This will be very helpful as this will help in
taking the view and the feedback from all the employees’ before taking any kinds of business

decisions. Aga, Noorderhaven and Vallejo, (2016) has suggested in this context that
transformational leaders will be encouraging their employees to reach out to the leaders with
their innovative and dynamic ideas. The transformational leaders want to imbibe the mission and
the values of the organization within their employees not by imposing their decisions over them
but my taking their consent and their views before implementing the business decision. They try
to deal with all their teammates with proper empathy. This will help them in understanding that
they are valued within the organization and form a very important and valuable part of the
organization. As per my perception, transformational leadership is the best leadership strategy
that can be followed in the modern day organizational setup.
As I dealing with the very current issue of Changing Approaches to Leadership, I decided
to use the theory of Adaptive leadership. As the name suggested adaptive leadership is very
helpful for the modem day leaders as it helps them to change their mindsets and develop the
modem and the new leadership methods. (Eberly et al., 2017) has stated that this hierarchical
top-down leadership style hasn’t worked for a long time. It is very rigid in nature and makes the
employees work under a very tough and claustrophobic work ambiance. They do not have any
freeness where they can go and deliver their opinions to their managers.

The Adaptive leadership framework is s four-dimensional leadership frameworks that
are good for modern leaders.
Navigating business environments
A modern leader will always abide by this rule. This will help them to go through all the
happenings of their organization. They will be able to keep a proper firm connection with all

their employees and understand the issues that are being faced by the employees. These leaders
do not believe in keeping themselves totally aloof from the workings of the business setup.
Leading with empathy
An adaptive leader will understand alternative perspectives and ideas and be able to share
them with others by looking at the organization through the eyes of others. (Aga, Noorderhaven
and Vallejo, 2016) had suggested that the modern leaders have to be kind and supportive towards
their employees. They help in making their followers or their team members work in a very
independent and proper manner. The adaptive leader will always make sure that they are trying
to provide professional and moral support to their followers whenever they are in need.
Learning through self-correction and reflection
Adaptive leaders encourage experimentation. An adaptive leader will not fear in
accepting any new and modern kind of ideas. They will have to make sure that their team
members or the employees are getting the full scope of sharing their views. The adaptive leaders
will naturally try to use these new ideas in their business setups. They will have to make sure that
the employees are given all the possible resources that will help them to work over the
implementation of their ideas. All this information can then be included in the strategy. Adaptive
leaders also allow decisions to be made at lower levels in the organization and minimize the
number of organizational layers.

Create win-win solutions
The adaptive leaders always try to develop a feeling of cooperation and understanding
within their organization. The leaders will follow the motif of moving forward with a joint
collaborative effort rather than using any monopolistic rule over their employees. Adaptive
leaders do more than just focus on profit and revenue growth. (Eberly et al., 2017) has suggested
that the adaptive leaders are concerned about uplifting their employees or their team members by
taking decisions that will be benefitting them rather than only focusing on their personal growth.
They take help of proper technological means to connect with all the different kinds of
stakeholders who are located in remote locations.

organization. In order to make sure that his company is being able to keep up with then changing
standards often entrepreneurial education system. Delosa's leadership and passion have grown

I will also try to abide by the same principle and make sure that I am trying to follow the
transformational leadership throughout my career. I will always make sure that I am taking the
views and the feedbacks of my teammates before reaching any final decisions. I have learned

changing approaches of the leadership system. This is because of the fact that he has followed a
very new and innovative kind of leadership strategy in order to meet with the issue in his
company. He has made sure to follow the daily feedback system so that he can pay due
importance to the views and the opinions of the employees. It is particularly relevant in this case
as the company deals with educating the entrepreneurs. Thus the teachers and the educational
practitioners who are teaching there have to teach the modern methods of following

transformational leadership. Delosa appoints all the matured and the experienced business
professionals so that he can get the proper kind of expertise and understand the changing needs
and demands of the employees in the current scenario. I will also abide by the Adaptive
Leadership framework as it will help me to maintain the modern acceptable standards of
leadership. The four different steps or the categories of the framework are of utmost importance.
As per my perception navigating through the office environment is of utmost importance. This
will help me to keep a sharp eye upon the happenings of the organization and the issue of the
employees. I will always try to solve any kinds of conflicts or confusions that are between my
followers. I will try to find out solutions that can benefit both the employees and the group of
employees involved.
I have been influenced by the impacts created by Delosa over this changing approach of
leadership. Thus I will try to follow the transformational leadership system in the future so that I
can properly communicate with all my team members before taking any kinds of business
decisions. I feel that this will help me in developing a proper communication system.
Communication is the key to success in the modern organizational setup.
