INTRODUCTION
Leaders are individuals that have influencing personality that helps in motivating
employees to work hard for growth and development of company. So a leader in order to
influence behaviour of individuals need to have various skills like communication, interpersonal,
decision making and problem solving abilities. This report discussed about two leadership skills
such as communication and authenticity and the way they contribute in current leadership
practice. In addition to this it has covered information pertaining to additional leadership that I
want to develop in order to get higher success and growth in future professional career.
Therefore, the aim of report is to understand key leadership skills and the way I can developed in
order to motivate team member to work for company objectives.

Two leadership skills
Leadership can be defined as art that helps in motivating group of individuals to perform
particular task in specific manner so that company can gained competitive advantages. In another
words, it is directing individual regarding the way particular task will be accomplished and end
goals can be achieved. In current scenario, there are numerous changes in the external
environment that affects company as well as leadership styles so that employees can be stay
motivated to work hard for growth and development of firm (Coffelt & Smith, (2020). At the
same time there are wide range of employees working in multinational companies thus leaders in
order to coordinate and motivate them has to make use of different techniques as well as skills
for better outcome. The two common leadership skills that have been discussed in the unit and
their contribution to current practices can be illustrated as follows:
Communication skills: It is the most common skills which is required in each and every
profession as effective communication skills contributed in exchange of information in limited
time frame to desired candidate. Communication is just not meant with share of idea, view and
feeling by leaders to its team member but also listening their point of view or understanding their
requirements. In current practices, employees wants to work for the organisation that not only
give huge financial reward but also provide safe, supportive and healthy working environment to
work for them (Denmark, Lozada & Ledesma (2018). So, leaders through having good
communication skills can easily understand things that can motivate employees to make

better services to range of customers is able to enjoy huge profit margin and market share. Thus
leaders have capabilities to easily, openly and consistently share their view can easily informed
employees about the change and motivated them to adapt for success of firm.
Moreover, there are various important information about the company which leaders need
to communicate or share with employees like its procedures, policies and regulations that need to
be abided by them while work for firm. Through effective communication skills leader can
resolve conflict, queries and issue faced by team member while completing their respective task
(Kozioł-Nadolna (2020). Therefore, it can be stated from above analysis that communication
skills of leader play an important role in coordinating team member by resolving their key issue
and guiding them about the way particular task will be completed.
Authenticity skills: It can be stated that authentic leader is good listener or it has capabilities to
understand problem as well as need of each individuals. Authenticity skills can be termed as
leaders that live its life by considering its own goals, value and ethics rather than other
individuals. Thus it have charming personality, traits that inspired several staff member as well
as employees to put their best efforts for achievement of company goals (Solomon (2020). In
current leadership practice, this skill is required because it helps in encouraging subordinate to
become more open and dedicatedly complete their work for success of organisation.
The leaders through having authentic skills are self aware of its action and decision at the
same time can easily examine its own strength and weakness. Moreover, there are many
individuals that like to be part of organisation or team in which the leader transparently and
consistently shares its view and opinion to other. Sharing of feeling to other team member
contribute in building a feeling of belongingness among employees thereby motivation to work
on towards their productivity and performance for organisational benefits. The leader cans easily
leading employees by communicating organisation value, purpose and goals so that they are
ready to accept change and work for company (Makhmoor, (2018). The leaders that have
authenticity skill share its success with its team member that motivates them or create a feeling

Development of motivation skills
From the above analysis, I have understand that communication and authenticity are two
common skills that are helpful to leader in completing its task or guiding, supporting and
motivating employees to work hard or determinedly for organisation growth. I have decided to
developed motivation skills in order to achieve greater success in future professional career or
become a successful leaders. Motivation is technique of inspiring individuals to enhance its
performance and productivity or adapt it as per external changes so that company can retain
competitive advantages. There are different factors that motivate an individual such as financial
reward, better working environment, social relationship and many more. So, leaders by ensuring
that employees are provide safe environment, friendly workplace can inspired employees or
retained their satisfaction level to maximum extend (Dietl, & Reb, (2019)). Thereby company is
able to delivered qualitative services to customers in limited time frame and expand its operation
in external environment. Personal development plan has been made by me that clearly explained
about the method that I will used to develop motivating skills for becoming leaders in reputable
