Using Gibb's Reflective Cycle, the student describes the assigned task of creating a 5-minute oral presentation, detailing their feelings, evaluation of good and bad experiences, analysis of strengths and weaknesses, and a concrete action plan for improvement. The reflection highlights enhanced decision-making, research, and presentation skills, alongside the identified need to improve communication skills through increased participation in presentations and group discussions. Reflective Summary
Reflective summary is an important document, as it helps in understanding the growth of
an individual as a learner. Regarding a task assigned, it is important that a student gain more
insights than just focusing on the facts gathered about the focus of the study (Lawrence-Wilkes
and Ashmore, 2014). Reflective summary can help a student in gaining additional information
about the focus of the study and also help the student in grow as a learner. In general, a reflective
summary includes the description of the task assigned and performed, how the learning improved
with the help of the task and how skills were developed or improved while undertaking the task
(Lawrence-Wilkes and Ashmore, 2014). In this manner, the following reflective summary is
focused on the unit task provided by the institute. The unit focuses on individual oral
presentation on the area of organisational behaviour, under which the focus of the study is
leadership and its aspects. In order to present the reflective summary, Gibb’s Cycle is used, as it
is an effective method that is used to write reflective writing. There are six stages that are
involved in the model, namely description, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion and action
plan (Sicora, 2017). The reflective summary for the individual unit task is presented below with
the help of Gibbs’ Reflective Cycle:
Description
In the unit, organisational behaviour, we were assigned with individual task, so that the
students can gain understanding regarding the theories and concepts of organisational behaviour.
The main focus of the unit is on helping the students to learn about the different human
behaviour in organisations and how this human behaviour helps in better management. We
analysed that one of the major aspect under organisational behaviour and management is
leadership. In this manner, we were assigned to develop an individual presentation on leadership.

Regarding the individual presentation, we were asked to present a 5-minute oral presentation on
leadership, which can help us in identifying a business person who has successful presented his
leadership skills and has gained success. Therefore, for developing the individual oral
presentation I chose Sir Richard Branson as the successful leader who has made Virgin Group a
success. Regarding the business person and successful leader I chose for my individual
presentation, I focused on major three aspects in my presentation. These three aspects include the
major decisions made by Richard, dealing of employees and managers by Richard and
sources/area for Richard to find employees for the organisation. These three aspects helped me in
understanding the leadership traits that are followed by Richard in Virgin Group and also how
the behaviour of Richard led to the success of the organisation.
Feelings
Individual oral presentation provided in the module was the first individual task provided
regarding presentation. Therefore, at the initial level, when the task was introduced to us, I felt
that I will not be able to complete the task easily without the help of my friends as this was my
first presentation in the module, which was to be presented alone. However, I was able to
accomplish the task within the allocated time period. I believe that working alone on a task is
easier as compared to working in team. This is because I feel that in individual tasks decisions
can be taken in lesser time and also there is no chance for conflict. However, I believe that in
group tasks, it is important that decisions are taken mutually, which consumes time and can also
create conflicts between the individuals. After completing my individual oral presentation task
on leadership, I feel I have gained understanding regarding the influence a leader can have and
how his/her traits can help in leading the organisation towards success.
Evaluation
Document Page
From the overall experience of developing oral presentation individually, I felt there are
certain good and bad experiences associated. Some of the good experiences include, improving
my skills by working alone on a topic provided by the institute and successfully completing the
task within the allocated time. Therefore, I can say that I have good time management skills and
I can also take decisions on my own. Through the individual presentation I have improved my
research skills and presentation skills. This is because the task required the selection of a
business and working on three aspects, for which research has to be conducted on successful
business leaders. Other than the good experiences, there were certain bad experiences, which I
faced while accomplishing the task. Initially, I had the fear of not be able to complete the task
individually. Further, I faced difficulty in finding the leaders who have been successful regarding
their leadership and also match the three areas that has to be chosen from the list provided.
However, I was able to manage to search for the leaders and accomplish the task. During the
presentation, I felt that I lack in my communication skills, as I was not able to present my oral
presentation in an effective manner.
Analysis
From the overall situation I can make sense that I am good at making decisions and
managing tasks within the allocated period of time. This can help me in the future regarding my
employability skills. In addition to this, I can also say that as I have identified that I lack in
communication skills, I must take effective steps in improving and developing my
communication skills, so that I do not face difficulty in my further studies and also regarding
employability.

It can be concluded that the overall experience of developing oral presentation on
leadership individually was a good experience, as I came to know that I can accomplish tasks
individually and also in a successful manner. Further, I came to know that I am good at making
decisions, presentation skills, and research skills and also good at time management skills.
However, it is required that I improve my communication skills. In order to improve
communication skills, I will engage in more presentations and also take part in group discussions
so that I can interact with people and improve my skill.
