Past
My professional goal is to work in the field of sales and marketing. My aim is to become a leader
in my field and prove to be an asset for the firm that I am employed with. I joined this course
with the objective of enhancing my leadership skills as well as my ability to deal with different
kinds of people in a culturally diverse team. I also wanted to improve my personal
communication skills as a job in sales requires immense persuasion as well as patience while
negotiating with different kinds of clients. In order to be successful, I wanted to improve upon
my skills so as to enhance my value as a potential employee of any company.
Present
I have discovered various attributes of my personality through this course. We participated in
many activities which has led to an improved confidence in my life. I have also learnt that even
while excelling at a sales job, I can venture into other areas in the same field like marketing and
communications. I learnt the art of leadership and team building while performing various team
exercises. What really surprised me was that I realized that I am an extremely democratic leader
and I believe in helping the entire team grow and move together. This is why I have realized that
it would be advisable for me to work in an organization that promotes open communication and
has a rather flat organizational structure. I learnt about all these structures as well during this
course.
Through the duration of this course I also interacted with many people and realized how teams
function and how different members of the team play different roles in the accomplishment of
organizational goals. I have also learnt that I must try to understand people coming from
different cultural backgrounds in order to work with them more efficiently and to avoid any form
of miscommunication. The course has been a great learning experience and has largely helped
me transform my abilities and made me more prepared for the professional life ahead.
Future
For the future, my goal is the same of working in marketing and sales department. However,
rather than working in well-established firm with all the necessary policies in place, I would

rather like to work with a startup or a new business where my level of responsibility,
accountability and authority will be higher. This would largely help me build a strong career as I
would grow with the firm. My aim is to be a transformational leader for such an organization. I
have also learnt the importance of aligning personal goals with organizational goals in order to
succeed in career. My next plan is to build a strong CV as per the directions given to us in this
course and apply for sales and marketing job in the city. I also need to improve upon my
interview skills for that. Overall, the course has helped me improve many aspects of my
personality and I wish to apply these improvements in my professional life.
