Introduction
The organization Veterans Affairs Hospital is a Federal Coordinating Center that mainly
deals with emergency cases. The organization mainly works for war veterans and even retired
military veterans. The organization is one of the delegated Centers of Innovation under the
Office of Patient-Centered Care and Cultural Transformation. The mission statement of the
organization is built around the promise of President Lincoln that to offer care to the people who
have been part of a battle and along with the people who are associated with it. This is the main
driving force of the organization, which pushes them to work efficiently for the American
Veterans both men and women. The main stakeholders of the Veterans Affairs Hospital are the
Federal Government, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Veterans Benefits Administration, and more
than 5000 employees.
Internal & External Forces
The internal factors that affect the functioning of the organization Veterans Affairs
Hospital are the people who are involved in the functioning of the organization. The organization
functioning is affected by the organization’s decisions, structure, activities, and also, due to the
behavior of the employees. Thus, these are the different forces that change the organization’s
functioning and impacts the company positively or negatively (Agarwal & L., 2017).
The external forces that impacts the organization are economic changes and new policies.
Therefore the main external factors that impact the organization are economic, legal, and
political. The budget introduced by President Donald Trump has allocated less economic
resources, which will impact the services of the hospital immensely. In addition to this, the new

policies that the organization has to implement due to any legal or political changes (Frakt,
2016).
Driving Force of the Organization
The main driving force of the organization is its Core Values. It is due to this driving
force that the organization and all the people associated with it are pushed to improve their
activities. The core values and the mission statement of the organization are interlinked, which
encourages and pushes the employees of the organization, to work effectively. There are five
core values of the organization, which are integrity, advocacy, respect, commitment, and
excellence. It is due to this that the organization have high moral principles which push them to
perform to the highest professional standards. It is also due to these core values that the
organization functions under the approach of continuous improvement. These are the internal
driving force.
On the other hand, the external driving force of the organization is the economic,
political, and legal factors. It is due to these driving force that the organization is impacted
negatively. It is due to these forces that the organization operations, processes, and quality
standards are affected, which further impacts the veterans and the stakeholders immensely
(Thomas, 2017).
Due to the less allocation of budget by the government, the organization can face
different issues, they are –
It will affect the quality of services being offered to the veterans.
During the time of emergency, the hospital will not be able to afford important resources
in adequate quantity.

The employees will not achieve opportunities for development and growth (Guerriero,
Miglionico & Olivito, 2019).
The internal stakeholders will not be able to increase the level of innovation in the
organization.
Steps to be taken by the Organization
The different steps which the organization has to utilize for managing these internal and
external changes are –
The organization needs to pair with new stakeholders that will offer them with more
economic resources, which will help in fulfilling the mission statement of the
organization effectively.
The organization needs more medical funding for maintaining the standard of the
facilities. It is due to this reason that the organization should push the Federal
Government to increase the funding of the organization (Hearld, Carroll, Hearld &
Opoku-Agyeman, 2016).
The organization should introduce more programs for veterans like the Million Veteran
Program. For introducing these program, the organization needs humongous political
support and thus, the organization should connect with different leaders and other
influential businessmen.
The internal forces should be utilized by the organization as a positive factor, which helps
them in managing the conditions of crisis and instabilities in a better way. On the other
hand, the employees should be asked to devote more time during the time of emergency

and the organization should also offer them bonuses (Niculete, Peckham, Boggs &
Steinberg, 2017).
Employees Reaction to the Changes
The employees of the organization will be motivated and encouraged, due to the different
changes that will be made in the organization. Due to the increase in the medical funds, the
employees will be able to work according to better standards, which will help in fulfilling the
mission statement more effectively. On the other hand, employees will also achieve more
opportunities for job development and job satisfaction. In addition to this, the new program and
techniques will also provide the employees with the facility of learning new techniques and also,
will offer them training opportunities (Tromanhauser, 2018).
New Vision of the Organization
The new vision of the organization, according to the proposed changes is -
“The Veterans Affairs Hospital vision is to offer people with services that are
continuously improved and upgraded. The organization vision is to expand further and
innovate. The organization wants to serve the veterans, their employees, and the
stakeholders equally, by fulfilling their needs and demands appropriately, the
organization plans to work religiously, by utilizing all the latest advancements made in
the field of medicine”.
This vision statement is designed around the mission statement of the organization and
also, its core values. The vision statement clearly exhibits that the organization main focus is to
expand and improve its services continuously. On the hand, the vision statement will encourage
and motivate the employees to learn new things that will help in serving the patients in a better

way. On the other hand, this vision will help the organization in developing new contacts that
will help the organization in attaining financial resources.
The internal stakeholders will be informed about all the positive aspects that the organization
will attain from the vision statement. They are –
The development of new programs by the organization, as the employees will be pushed
to improve their standard of innovation.
The new technologies that the organization will adapt due to the advancement in the field
of technology. With this adaptation, the organization will also be able to develop better
strategies that will help in organizing the data of the organization.
The internal stakeholders will be informed about the personal benefits, which they will
attain, due to the addition of new programs that will be added in the organization.
The internal stakeholders will also be informed about the different new stakeholders that
will be included in the organization and will help in improving the organization’s
structure and processes.
Reflective Analysis
In my opinion, the vision statement will help in convincing the internal stakeholders in
supporting the change. By informing the different benefits, which the internal stakeholders will
attain, along with the organization benefits, the internal stakeholders will be convinced. The
different suggestions that will be made by the stakeholders will also be considered and will also
be incorporated into the organization’s strategies. But, for the considerations, which are not
appropriate, I will deny them by stating the various different valuable reason, ensuring them they
attain clarity about my denial and the different ways the considerations will affect the

organization negatively. The different potential considerations that the stakeholders can make are

Increasing the salaries of the internal stakeholders, which will be debatable.
Due to less allocation of budget by the government, the influential internal stakeholders
can suggest, to reduce the workforce of the hospital by a few percentages.
Internal stakeholders can suggest collaborating with private organizations or leaders. This
is also debatable.
The internal stakeholders for increasing the profits of the organization can suggest
expanding the services for everyone, along with veterans, which I believe will not be
possible at all.
Conclusion
With this, it can be concluded that with the different suggestions and the new vision of
the organization, I will able to change the organization’s operations and processes. In addition to
this, the internal stakeholders will be motivated, to perform and improve the standard of their
services. Along with this, the employees will be offered with better opportunities for job
development and job satisfaction.
