Introduction
The significance of the leadership played an important role in the success of each and
every business unit. An effective leadership can make the organization at the top level. The
leadership qualities are essential in the management of the company which can lead to the
organization in the future. An effective leadership helps to motivate their subordinate to attain
their organizational goals and objectives more effectively. This report is helps to importance of
leadership in the organization at the different level (Schein, 2010). To maintain the business of
the company it is important for the company to smoothly functioning all activities. It requires an
effective and efficient leadership to make the organization better in terms of productivity,
performance and improvement in the company. This report is carried out the importance and
objective of leadership and finally explain the process of self awareness.
Assessment 1
There are the following characteristic of an effective leader.
Motivational: It is important characteristic of a leader that it should be motivational. A
motivational leader can motivate their subordinate in a great extent. A motivated leader enjoy the
challenges and taking these challenges more seriously which can leads to personal growth as
well as the organizational growth. So that it can inspire their subordinate and other to take to any
challenges easily (Selznick, 2011).
Visionary: Vision refers to the goals and objectives which the organization wants to accomplish
in the near future. A leader must be visionary. It is important of a leader that who can see in to
the future. So that it can help to meet the challenges and risk in the future. These dreams must be
shared and communicated with their subordinates. The leader should have abilities and
capabilities to convert these dreams in to the reality.
Risk taker: Being a leader it should be risk taker. There are various challenges and changes
which are to be faced by the leaders. To dealing with these challenges and changes requires to
take the strict decision and take the risks. It can reflects to their personal growth as a leader
(Brown and Treviño, 2006). The leadership requires confidence to take the decisions and take the
roles and responsibilities seriously.

Self awareness: This approach is related with the expansion, growth and development of the
business and it is helpful in attaining the success and also achieving the targets. They are having
the essential and the important components which is required and also helps in the self
awareness. In this leader help in identifying and assessing the strength and weakness. Along with
this they have to conduct the personality test (Leithwood, Harris and Hopkins, 2008).
Leadership competencies: The company managers helps in handling the burden of the work.
Along with this they are having the roles and responsibilities so that they can develop the
different type of leadership competencies. The company members have to assigned the proper
responsibilities to the leaders so that they can perform the task easily. The leaders have to the
work with the best quality.
Leadership:
Leaders are the individuals which are helps to others to do the right things. These set the goals
and objective and communicate with their subordinate. They give the direction to their
subordinates towards their task and inspiring them to do the task and perform their duties in a
effective manner.
Assessment 3
Emotional intelligence means that the person having the ability of managing and
understanding the own emotions. Along with this the individual person who are connected with
this. The leaders of the company having the degree of the emotional intelligence so that they
having a feeling that they have to do the proper working (Luthans, Norman and Hughes, 2006).
Along with this the team members of the company have also a feeling and they having the
emotions which is having a positive impact on the individuals. For attaining the success and the
growth leaders having the emotional intelligence. The company members having the different
values. Along with this they are having the values which is having a significance for the
personality of the leader. In this Honesty is the best policy and company members have to use
this so that they can easily attain then success. Along with this the leader have to be required
than only they can attain the targets. The company members have to use the proper policies
which helps in attaining the leading position in the competitive market. The company members
and the leaders have to delegate the work equally which is done by him so that they can maintain
a sense of equality in the workplace.

The leader of an organization requires to understand their roles and responsibilities. So that he
can not faces any challenges in the near future. In a small business enterprise, leaders have
increase more responsibilities to operate their business and to growth and development of the
business unit (Avolio, Walumbwa and Weber, 2009). The manager requires to use their
leadership in an appropriate way, assign the roles and responsibilities for individual and try to
attain the organizational goals and objectives in a effective manner. There are various roles
which are played by the leader of the small business enterprise. These roles and function
involved managing the business activities at different level, directing the works to individual,
staffing the employees and controlling the over all activities of the business. So that the small
business unit can achieve their targets and attain the leading position.
