1. How does the leadership approach or style you selected affect employee
motivation in the workplace
Failure or success of an organization is greatly determined by the leadership since the
leaders are largely responsible for the success or failure of work implementation. For most
parts, the most common problem faced by organizations today is related to the development
of career management and human resource management (Afsar, & Umrani, 2019)..
Unsatisfied employees make it hard for companies to achieve their targets and goals.
Organizations have learnt that motivation can be greatly enhanced by a leadership that
focuses on the problems that employees face and encouraging development needs of the
employees to achieve the targeted goals. Transformational leadership approach has four
important functions of motivating the employees. They include inspiration motivation;
attention to the given employee; charisma and intellectual stimulation. Transformational
leadership implementation can master the psychological aspects of employees leading to
increased motivation. Transformational leadership approach is exceedingly successful in both
private and government institutions. Leadership approach has a direct correlation with
employee motivation and therefore the success of a company (Banks, McCauley, Gardner, &
Guler, 2016)..
2. How does it affect the quality of communication in the workplace?
Communication and leadership are greatly connected and intertwined. Some of the great
transformative leaders in history who were great communicators include; Abraham Lincoln,
Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther king Jr. with the style of communication, a leader can
influence the perception by others in the workplace. Communication styles are proximal
antecedents of transformational leadership approach. The relationship between a

transformative leadership approach and the style of communication affects the performance
of the organization greatly. Although transformative leadership style can be improved with
training, it is the ability to talk or communicate to employees in an organization that is
important. Transformational leadership has been shown through investigation to encourage
an open type of communication in an organization. With a democratic leadership through
communication, innovation is enhanced. Transformational leadership mediates relationship
between subordinates work satisfaction and two communicator styles (Ghasabeh, Soosay, &
Reaiche, 2015). Transformational leadership implementation can master the psychological
aspects of employees leading to increased motivation.
3. Use specific examples to illustrate your perspective for both questions
Transformational leadership affects the employee motivation. An example is an
organization that aims to increase the performance of the workers and make the employees
committed to the organization. a transformative leader at the helm of an organization makes
employees perform better by articulation a vision and mission focusing on employees
contributions to an organization. in communication , great communicators like Martin Luther
King junior ensures that a society was transformed on its perception to inequality and racial
segregation through minority action. Although Martin Luther king jr was not leading an
organization, it is communication skills through transformative approach that ensured
minority interests are effected in many public works and institution (Hoch, Bommer,
Dulebohn, & Wu, 2018). The relationship between a transformative leadership approach and
the style of communication affects the performance of the organization greatly.
