List of change leader competencies:
1. Resource management competencies- I possess resource management competency, which
allowed me to handle significant and/or challenging situations in my college life.
Situation: In my college I used to be the cultural secretary where I had a team of 8 for
supporting the club in organizing inter-college festivals and extra curricular activities. Once
there was situation where the team was asked to organize an intercollege exhibition for the
promoting the combination of business learning’s and sustainability. The exhibition was
scheduled a week from the day of communication. The situation was to organize a
professional business exhibition, which will demonstrate the collaboration of college
learning’s and professional coaching sessions. The exhibition was to be conducted for 2 days.
Task: My role was to conduct a business event demonstrating the importance of
sustainability. My role was to construct a blue print for the exhibition and communicate the
strategies to my team. My role reflected the need for sourcing resources like lights and sound
equipment, financial resources like funding from club’s budget and funding from students as
a form of registration fee, human resources for executing the plan as well as to source
business professionals for conducing workshops in those two days. My role also comprised of
allocating the resources for implementing the strategic blueprint.
Actions: For initiating the preparation, my first step was to prepare a detailed plan listing out
the required resources for the event. After listing the resources, I along with the team started
sourcing them based on priorities, first day was dedicated to arranging the financial resources
for the event, where I consulted with the treasurer and withdrawn the required amount. The
second day was dedicated for taking appointment of the business professionals from various
industries for conducting a session during the exhibition. The third day had to be focussed on
arranging the remaining funding be from the students who were communicated through
email. However, in the third day the funding did not turned as it was supposed to be due to

the semester break. The budget sourced from all the sources was lower than expectations;
insufficient financial resources marked the challenge of booking required equipment for the
event. For solving the funding issues and the short duration, I decided to source equipment
from our in-house bands for the sound equipment, for the space we decided to use our
examination hall by clearing out the classroom tables and chairs with the help of volunteers.
Rest of the fund was allocated for arranging exhibition tables and for building a stage for the
guest speeches.
Result: The exhibition was successful and every event in the exhibition was executed
effectively with the full coordination from the arranged resources as well as from the help of
the human resources, the team and the volunteer. This competency will allow me to handle a
complex situation in the organization and will direct my focus towards the available
resources during a challenging situation. This competency also helped in the development of
time management and risk management skill.
2. Technological competency- This competency is one of the constituent of functional
competency, which allowed me to resolve various challenges.
Situation: In a college contest, we were asked to design marketing for a start-up business,
which will be designed by us and we can use any kind of communication tool for spreading
the information about the features and advantages of the product. A student with maximum
coverage and maximum awareness rate was announced as the winner for the contest. The
contest presented duration of three days.
Task: My role was to design the promotional tool in our team of six, where I needed to
communicate the strategized product details and application in the daily life. My role was to
construct a comprehensive promotional plan for the purpose of accomplishing the optimum
coverage and to establish the image of a brand amongst other participants and faculty
members.

Actions- My first step was to conduct a team meeting for understanding each other’s ideas for
the product, as the project needed to be in coordination with the other elements of marketing
plan. After understanding the product details of a hypothetical details, I started considering
various options for preparing the promotional plan. The plan was designed based on the
product features, which majorly targeted the mindset of youngsters. So my decision for media
selection was based upon the usage rate of hypothetical target consumers. I selected
Instagram, Facebook and YouTube for communicating the ‘brand’ message and the
applicability. In Instagram I prepared an Instagram page, which contributed as the photo
gallery for our proposed product. The Facebook page helped with spreading the news for
making people aware of the new products and the YouTube videos captured the process of
building the marketing plan for the product of the start-up. I also invested my technological
skills in building a professional website, which acted as an interactive media.
Result: We accomplished a second position in the college. Although, we did not received the
first position but the our team designed the highest coverage for building awareness and
positioning of our proposed product. The website interactions, Facebook likes and comments,
Instagram account design as well as the YouTube video content was appealing and attracted
the targeted viewers. The technological competency allowed is to execute the promotional
plan for the target audience without spending a single penny for the strategic implementation.
3. Analytical competency- This competency is a constituent of cognitive skills.
Situation: In one of my summer internship I had the opportunity of working in a desktop
manufacturing firm where I was allotted a marketing research task, which required me to
assess the work satisfaction of the channel partner of the particular company. The project
aimed at facilitating as a base for organization culture change.

Task: My role was to collect primary data from the channel partner and use analytical
competencies for assessing the primary data from the channel partners. I used excel as my
tool for deducing detailed results.
