1 Identification of the problems which identified in the case study
As per the given case scenario, there has been an increasing animosity between Jane,
Adam and Sara. As Sara likes to work at steady pace of her daily basis and Adam valuable
member who waits until just before the deadline to completed his work. Sara has complaints
because she feels uncomfortable in working (Dietrich, 2016) . On the other hand, Jane found that
her sales figure is declined by 30% and she spoke previous manager about an increase in her
basic salary in her hours. Thus, from this entire case, it has been analysed that there is major
issue related to the lack of proper leadership and motivation by the manager to its team member.
Due to the proper leadership, team member is to understand their actual responsibility and avoid
importance of collaborative working at workplace (Lifelong learning, training and skills
development. 2016). As a result of some misunderstanding and lack of proper communication
between the team, such kind of conflict situation has been arisen.
2 What could have been the causes of the described conflicts?
As per the given scenario, the major cause of the conflict situation is lack of effective
leadership by team leader and manager of organisation (Behavioral Theories of
Leadership.2016). They have not properly focused on working criteria of members and have not
provided proper guidance and direction to them. Furthermore, there had arisen some
misunderstanding related to work among team members through which they were demotivated.
3 Explanation about the way through which conflicts have been avoided
As per the given case scenario, the conflict has been arisen among Adam, Sara and Jane
due to their work and task. There is some animosity between the team and others feel these three
have an unfair advantage because of their holiday destination . Furthermore, between Sara and
Adam conflict has been arisen as Sara feels uncomfortable in working in such a manner
especially in the collaborative tasks. Thus, from this above scenario, it has been analysed that
there is a serious conflict has been arisen among team members. In this situation, manager can
adopt following ways to handle and avoid conflict situation- Leadership- A leader can easily avoid the conflict situation while he/she adopts
impressive style of leadership. With the help of suitable style and method of leadership,
the leader can manage the situation of conflict among the team members (Leadership

Styles: Autocratic Leadership. 2016). An effective leader always gives the right direction
and path to work for team members so while any situation of conflict arises, then it is
great responsibility of leader to understand actual issue of team members and resolve it
by the help of effective leadership styles Motivation- With the help of motivation, leader can easily encourage team member for
higher performance and productivity. In this manner, manager can encourage, appreciate
and recognise employee’s performance and this appreciation can be considered in terms
of monetary and non-monetary rewards.
Collaboration- Collaboration is another way to resolve the conflict situation within the
organisation. In this manner, team member should collectively carry out their working
and achieve objective in an effective manner (TEAMS AND TEAMWORK. 2014).
4 Being a manager, situation of conflict can easily lead by manager in following heading-
Motivation- With the help of motivation, I can also overcome the situation of conflict among
Adam, Sara and Jane . By the aid of motivation, appreciation and recognition, I can encourage
members for higher productivity and performance through which they can correctly carry out
their work in an effective and efficient manner. Motivated employees can perform their job in
more effective manner so team leader should always motivate and encourage its workforce
within company.
Conflict management- Being a manager, I will effectively manage the conflict situation at
workplace with help of conflict management practices and strategies. I will analyse the actual
reason behind the conflicts among team members like Adam, Sara and Jane and find out the best
solution . With the help of effective conflict management practices and strategies, I can easily
understand the situation and find out the best alternative solution of the problem at workplace.
Negotiation skills- Being a manager in this current situation, I can also use negotiation skills for
handling the conflict among team members. Negotiation helps team members in providing the
effective solution by mutual agreement between parties . I can use negotiation skills in order to
overcome the problem among the team member through which they can go upon the mutual
solution.
