Introduction
The Company CEO had been receiving severe allegations that he was involved in sexual
harassment of two employees in the previous Company where he used to hold the COO
position. In the meantime these stories regarding such accusations have started becoming
viral in social media and in the internet. However the CEO denied harassing those two ex-
employees and their stories were published in different media so they were not aware of each
other’s story. The detail of those stories were produced in the internet. I was given the
responsibility by the board of the Company to assess various situations as well as give certain
recommendations from the perspective of leadership skills associated with personal
competencies. Therefore it is necessary for me to draw the report based up on which the
board will conduct assessment whether the current CEO is required to be replaced or he
would be able to meet the requirements. The main aim of the report is to throw light up on the
skills as well as capabilities of a business manager that are required to solve a management
problem that may arise in the current organization. The scope that is necessary to achieve this
aim is that the business manager must be adopted towards facing various competencies and
for this discussion needs to focus from the perspective of a leader. This particular discussion
shall include assessment of the critical scenario using the theory on leadership competencies
and also contain certain recommendations for purpose of board.

Various competencies associated with leadership are basically major skills as well as
characteristics that are possessed by business managers or leaders who can easily influence
performance in an organization (Schuler, 2015). In this scenario, since the CEO is facing
many allegations from his ex-employees therefore he needs to adopt right strategies that

render certain positive value to organizational aspects instead of giving ears to the
accusations made by his ex- employees in his previous organization. An analysis has been
conducted based on specific behaviours as well as skills of the company CEO and they have
been marked according to specific standards as follows:
Ability to adapt to organization performance and grow accordingly
Various leaders in their business organization do not initially produce superb performance
however the unique capability of them to develop various competencies and adopt essential
learning skills often give them opportunity to present themselves at different position apart
from rest of the managers in the organization (Chen & Chung, 2016). If these leaders have
been maintaining exceptional performance for consecutive five to twelve years belong to the
group of tenure. Those leaders as well as business managers who can grow from their
learning experiences in the past are prove to be exceptional if they can currently adapt
themselves to the latest organizational atmosphere, this is crucial on part of CEO of the
Company in the given scenario.

business leader to find solutions to solve those incidents. In this case study, the Company
CEO needs to identify the root cause behind such rumours that were prevailing against him in
the organization, he needs to conduct meetings and sessions where his employees will gather
together and they would get a chance to hear directly from the Company CEO. In addition, he
also needs to make them convince that the employees need to put more focus on productivity
of the company instead of paying ears to rumours that were prevailing through social media
from the other company. It would be high time on part of CEO to acquire trust of the staff
members and other hierarchies through good performance.

thinking of all the events that took place in the previous organization, finding out as well as
analysing the problems and convincing the ex-employees regarding proper solutions. This
will also help in eliminating various forms of confusions, frustration and misunderstandings
among people in the society who bear negative thinking against the Company CEO. It is the
best way to solve conflicts or rivalries that might exist between a COO and his subordinates
in the previous Company by sitting and discussing with them, resolving essential doubts and
convincing them that no harm shall be imposed on them from the side of him in the future.
However before forming an understanding with them, the Company CEO must enquire those
employees that what kind of situation has insisted them to spread the news of allegations
against him regarding sexual harassment as the matter could also be solved without even
publishing the stories in social media. After critical analysis if it is found that the
