INTRODUCTION
Cross cultural management refers to the study of the management that is associated with the
cross culture and includes the study of influence culture of the society on the managers and
management practices undertaken by the managers by considering the cross culture
difference. is associated with the effective practices that involves the working of various
teams in performing their job role by considering the difference in culture and preferences
of the customers in the business context(Dudin, and et.al, 2019). The report is based on the
case study of Brett Jones in Tanzania. The report covers the various concept such as
organizational culture , leadership and motivation level related to the case study.
MAIN BODY
Organizational culture
From the case study of Brett Jones in Tanzania the issue is detected that the organizational culture is
quite different from the US organizational culture. For instance in the organizational culture of the
Tanzania indicate that the researching of the job is to be done verbally and chance of hiring the
family members is high, the hiring of the relatives which is favourable by the local people.
According to the culture of Tanzania it is ethical practices but according to the rules and regulation of
the US authority which is formed to control the illegal activity and maintain peace it is not
favourable or acceptable in the organisations. Along with the people are paying little extra for the
services which is wrong as per the legal system (Odor, 2018) .
The payment for the extra services is considered as the illegal activity in the US legal system . Due
to this kind of the organizational practice the authority is facing the negative impact on the culture of
the organization. For instance due to the different culture of the organization the unemployment rate
is increasing in the nation because the people didn't find it suitable for them. Due to all these
problems of the issues their chances of increasing the unethical behaviour of the employees at the
workplace. It also increases the chance of raising the lack of trust. Different culture of the
organization lead to dissatisfaction from the job roles and responsibility. Along with that the
employees find the difficulty in operating the function of the organization in effective as well as
efficient manner. Beside all this the organization is not able to address the well beings of the workers
in an appropriate manner.
Organizational culture need to maintain in adequate manner in order to increase the profitability and
productivity of the company. Due to the organizational culture the organization can motivate the

employees of the organization and encourage them to work in effective manner. Along with that the
company can maintain the good relation with the workers of the company (Elsmore, 2017) . In
context to improve the organizational culture the administration can use various strategy. For
instance, the organization should focus on the mindset of the people working within the firm. It will
create positive environment within the culture of the organization. Along with that the manger is able
to address the well beings of the workers in an appropriate manner.
Furthermore, it will give assistance in providing the flexibility to the workers of the organization and
encourage the employees to complete the task on time and in adequate manner. Along with that in
order to maintain the culture of the organisation the manger or the leader of the organisation can
provide the proper information as well as training and development programme to the worker.
Moreover, it is important to maintain the culture of the organisation as per the taste and preferences
of the employees that deliver job satisfaction. In contrast to that the manger should involve the
employees in implementing the rules and regulation in the organisation for the welfare of the
organization (Kumar and Sharma, 2018) . Therefore, the manager should communicate with the
employees of the firm for providing the solution of personal as well as professional issue that also
lead to the positive culture in the organization. For the motivational band the positive culture of the
organisation the company should pay equal rights and responsibility to the workers that will
encourage them. All this practices of organizational culture helps in improving the quality of the
work and increase the productivity of the company. With the assistance of the organizational culture
in the organisation the company enhance the gross domestic production which is already increased
by $1100 per year. Evermore the company can lead the domestic as well as international
marketplace.
Leadership
In order to successfully operate the business it is very necessary to have an effective leader
that helps in guiding the employees and workers to accomplish the task assigned. Not only this , the
leader should have effective skill with which they can effectively coordinate, understand and solve
the problems that arise in the organisation. With help of effective communication skills , leaders can
effectively understand the problems of the employees that they are facing related to their task and
also listen and understand which helps in avoiding necessary conflict in the future(Gandolfi, and
Stone, 2018). This results into improvement in the performance and also enhance the performance
of the employees resulting in increasing productivity of the organisation. In order to avoid this , the
leader has the responsibility to apply effective leadership style which helps in building effective

relation among the employees and superiors. With the application of effective leadership theory , the
superiors can take effective decisions for the betterment of the company.
According to the case study the manger is not delivering the roles and responsibility in effective as
well as efficient manner. In the present case study the manger is taking all the decision along which
is not good idea for expending and increasing the business in the marketplace (Nguyen and et.al
2018). For the effective leadership programme it is important to involve the employees of the
organization in the process of decision making. Due to this involvement the individual person
working within the organization acquire the feeling of being treated like the assets of the company
rather than the feel debt on the organization. Along with that the Jones can bring the creativity at the
workplace which will increase the value of the company in the marketplace. In order to address this
the Jones should be cooperative and coordinative with the members of the organization which also
decrease the stress of the employees working within the firm. For the creativity and uniqueness that
increase the productivity and profitability of the company the Jones suppose to determine the values
of the employees by treating them in the right manner. Along with that the Jones has the opportunity
to provide the training and development programme in order to bring the speciality in the particular
field .
Another issue highlighted in the case study is the issue of unethical hiring. In these issue the Jones
is hiring the candidates which are knowns of the Jones and having any sort of the relationship with
the manger which is considered as the wrong practices of hiring. The employees of the organisation
supposes to be hired on the basis of the skills and the knowledge of individual person because if the
individual person is not having the proper knowledge then the person is not able to perform the
effective job roles in the company. For expending the value of the company the hiring process should
be clear. Due to this reason the organisation will not able to grow or expend the marketplace. The
well educated employees lead to customer satisfaction which is essential for the companies' growth.
With the assistance of ethical practice of hiring the individual person can motivate the employees of
the organization and bring the fairness among the workers. The right hiring leads to the individuals'
ability to perform and complete the task in adequate manner (Macdonald, Burke and Stewart,
2018) .
In order to improve this issues associated with the leadership the company can utilized different types
of leadership the theories that bring the effectiveness in the organization which are mentioned as
contingency theory : it refers to the organizational theory that company or the manger can use in
order to lead the employees and the organization in effective as well as efficient manner. In order to
Document Page
hire the required candidate, skilled and knowledgeable candidates at the workplace this theory can
provide assistance. Along with that the leader can provide the perfect structure to the organization
because this theory focus on the concept adaptability (Sethibe and Steyn, 2017). According to the
case study the strategy or the theory of the leadership boost the ability of the management which is
important for setting the business in Tanzania. The contingency theory not includes the efforts of the
leaders but it also works on the organizational culture, work environment. Due to that the CEO of
the company can acquire the market of the Tanzania and resolve the is issue of the local citizen that
claim that the management of the company is disorganised. That give assistance in delivering the
employee's satisfaction. Along with that HG is able to deal with the employees and the local people
for which the Jones is responsible to deliver the operation rather than that the individual person
making the worse .
Motivation and HRM
It has been observed that in today’s business world every company faces different problems
while operating its business in the international markets as there are various guidelines and
regulations of this government which can be a barrier in the development of the
business(Kuswati, 2019). As per the case of Brett Jones of Tanzania there were numerous
number of challenges that was faced by the Graham Steinberg while recruiting talented ,
knowledgeable and experienced candidates. Some major problems were associated with the
unethical approaches that were followed by the Jones which had negative consequences. The
hiring practices that was followed and various issues related to the tribal rituals etc.
According to the case study it is observed that various important motivating factors and
elements were ignored during the planning g of HG project that is associated with the
lifestyle of Jone's(Locke, and Schattke, 2019). It was inconsistent with the HG culture
because of this reason to people of Tanzania adopted the life that would be comfortable for
the people living there . Another major issue was the increasing employment rate and in
relation to HR , management issues that John has adopted the practice opening for local
people and interviewing . On the other hand Steinberg was not satisfied with John’s hiring
practices as it will develop a feeling of dissatisfaction among the existing employees and
can lead to increase in employee turnover. In order to overcome this situation, the
management need to focus and implement the theory of motivation that is Hertzberg Two
Factor theory According to this theory, two factors are most important factor within the
company that is hygiene and motivation factor(Bevins, 2018). These motivating factor

enable the employees to work as per their capabilities related to the work assigned. The
management also uses the hygiene practices such as salary increment, job security and
training so that they get motivated and perform their task effectively. As per the case study it
depends upon the Jones to plan the activities with the involvement of all the employees and
hence this theory will be success when the to management implements the correct action. In
order to implement correct theory it is important for the manager to motivate their
employees and apply the successful motivational theory which enable the employees to
improve their performance and work with efficiency.
