“Time for a Tune up’’
According to me, the thing that stands out the most is the high quality curriculum that defines
the effectiveness of learning of students and teaching strategies that will enhance the
achievement of the student as well as the teacher effectiveness. A school or college without a
good curriculum is like a car without an engine which does not go anywhere. Therefore, I feel
that all the students and teachers should have a common objective and aim that drives
towards teaching and learning though proper planning, organizing, implementing and
evaluating the curriculum. An effective high quality curriculum should be valid and must
include the values, principles, career success and responsible citizenship. To help the students
for better preparation, it is required to take feedbacks from the alumnus and conduct surveys
on which subjects or topics the students should be best prepared for their examinations. The
students should be familiar with the aims and objectives of the curriculum. However, I feel
the written curriculum is not useful without effective implementation of the teachers and
educational departments to ensure that aims and objectives are being met consistently and
completely. A proper and complete curriculum includes more than what is to be taught but
the focus also should be on how it should be taught. To further enhance on the education
level and achievement of the students and teachers, a constant review from the students
should be taken about what is working well for them and what they expect to be improved
from their high school education.
Further, it is to be noted that to what extent the students, are able to understand and evaluate
the key objectives of the curriculum. Therefore, the students including the teachers should
work together on improving the curriculum. The educators or the teachers certainly play the
biggest role in implementing and evaluating the curriculum. However, I feel that it is not easy
to implement effective high quality curriculum in the schools o colleges. The teachers may
hinder when it comes to traditional topics and according to me they should be made to

understand that it is not important what they teach but how they teach, the teaching methods
in the classroom is important. A curriculum that covers up the whole thing however lacks
essential deepness does not considerably develop a student’s skill to study and consequently
intimidates future achievement in school and profession. The complete curriculum evaluation
takes more time to complete than the usual traditional method which requires extra time and
effort to discuss the topics and come into effectiveness. A successful high quality curriculum
requires time and attention to run smoothly, also usual tune-ups ought to be conducted by
highly-trained employees who can identify the problems before they guide to an actual
collapse. This will definitely lead to motivation and inspiration of the students as well as the
teachers to learn and highly efficient education that is desired by all.
