Introduction
This reflective report illustrates the leadership drive as well as, assesses the leadership
features, models as well as, theories. It also inspects the self-awareness techniques for
speaking the concerns. This reflective report also classifies the action plan in terms of
enhancing the identified worries. This report have 3 parts the first on is observation, the
second is leadership development plan and my experience about what I learned from my
father reading leadership. The third is the feedback I got from the leaders and the ways in
which I will use them in my plan to achieve my goals and the objective (Acton, Foti, Lord, &
Gladfelter, 2019).
Observation
According to me, I consider my father as an effective and a successful leader. During my
growing up year. I regularly use to have a chance to see my father who was a network chief,
seat gatherings, give talks and holding and raising the support drives and he was also a person
to who everyone would turn up to in the family. All of my family members had trust in him
and believed in him. In so many years I never saw him losing even in one situation as he
handled all the situations with a smile. I till now wonder how he use to do this and how he
managed to get the individuals to attract in to his thoughts (Bradley McKibben, DiAnne
Borders, & Ackerman, 2017).
He was a charismatic leader; he had various skills which made him a good leader. He was a
very skilled communicator. He was someone who was both verbal and eloquent and he
always uses to talk to everyone around him on an emotional as well as a deep level. He was
also able to articulate compel a vision and was also someone who was able to arouse strong
emotions in everyone around him.

He had the following traits and leadership qualities
1. Communication: My father has nice and extraordinary skills in communication. This
also helped in motivating my family during any situation or during the tough times
and apart from this he was also one of those people who stayed grounded when
the things were good. He was a person who could communicate with the other person
easily in the group.
2. Maturity: he never use to believe in empty showmanship, instead he had knowledge
and wisdom which accumulated in him with each passing year of his business and the
life experiences. He was always a person who was mature and responsible in all the
occasions.
3. Humility: He had a sense of humility. He use to value each and every family member
and also had the ability to listen to each and every member and their concerns also he
was able to convince the employees and value them and their efforts towards the
family (Breevaart, Bakker, Demerouti, & Derks, 2016).
4. Compassion: he was also very compassionate like the other charismatic leaders. He
was compassionate, honest and he had all the qualities that were need to be a good
leader
5. Confidence: he was confident and was a person who was comfortable with whatever
he was and he understands himself well he never use to try to become like someone
else. He was confident enough to be comfortable in his own skin.
6. Positive body language: few of the things that I understood from noticing my father
were that he had a positive body language. He always to use to make eye contact with
everyone he uses to talk with. He always use to smile and introduce himself to
strangers with joy of making a new contact and they were also authentic.

7. Listening skills: he was always a person who was a good listener, he always use to
pay attention to whatever was being said and he always use to engage in every
conversation with support to the person.
Use of power
 My father made positive use of his power and he always use to influence everyone
around him to do what they love to do and what they want to do.
 He always used to care for the people around him and use to avoid dominating
others. He always use to choose respect over friendship, and he always wanted
the truth over deception
 He always found ethical ways to do the things as they he did not believe in
unethical practices and he wants to spread only positivity for the people around
him (Ford, & Harding, 2018).

vision that would help me in practicing with the people around me also I will have to take

I have also learned that in order to become a good leader I will have to demonstrate and
encourage my followers. I will have to be a role model and I will have to motivate the others
in sharing their thoughts and experience and I will have to tell my followed about how they
can perform a particular task so that my it would be easy for my followers to learn.
Apart from this I believe that I have various shortcomings. I have developed knowledge that
in respect to encouraging others in order to complete the task. Some of the challenges that I
would face or would create difficulty for me to perform as a leader would be offering and
communicating the assistance to the other in order to make them complete their task due to
the unmatched opinions and difference in the culture of people.
Current strengths and areas of the development, seeing my father I learned and increase my
comprehension in context to me. I worked in an NGO to test my leadership skills and by that
I have enhanced various learning about me. I have learned that self-awareness is a thing that
evaluates my likes and dislikes, strengths and personality (Obolensky, 2017).

From the feedback I have learned that I have various kind of issue on which I will have to
work in order to improve my leadership skills. I have various issues which are linked to my

confidence, improving my leadership skills, my communication skills and managing the
difference in opinions from the employees in order to improve my self-confidence, I will
attend various seminars related to confidence building and I would read more newspapers
and gain knowledge I will be doing all this from week 1-4. I will measure this by the use of
swot analysis and by getting a feedback from my boss as it will help me understand about
my progress. The next thing which I will have to improve is teams leadership skills and for
this I will ask all the employees to attend a meeting in order to learn more about each other as
this will help the employees to work together in a team and towards a common goal apart
from this I will ask my followers to attend training in order to learn more about team building
and team effectiveness. I will be doing all of this between week 8-4 and I will measure it by
getting feedback from my boss and also by having constant meeting with the team and giving
the team group tasks (Pitelis, & Wagner, 2019).
Moving ahead my further goal will be to improve communication skills. Communication is
something that is an important part of the business and also it is important to have good
communication skills as a leader is someone who manages the whole organization (Pranesh,
Palanichamy, Saidat, & Peter, 2017).
. If a leader will not have good communication skills that it will affect the whole organization
as in order to communicate the goals and objectives about the company, it is important to
have good communication skills, I will be doing this in the week 8-12 by having constant
meetings, participating in conferences and by having communication building games, all this
would be measured by the feedback that would be given to me from my boss. The last goal is
an important one as I have to learn as to how I can manage with the people with difference in
opinion as the difference in opinion can also lead to conflict, I will solve this by trying to
understand others and by listening to others properly rather than just assuming, I will be

doing this in the week 12-14 and this thing will be again reviewed by the feedback of my
boss.
Conclusion
Through the overhead clarification, it can be abridged that leadership experience was very
helpful for me in terms of cultivating my leadership capabilities. Moreover, it can be
concluded that I have shaped my understanding of self-awareness through SWOT techniques.
It can be also summarised that my shortcomings were identified by me through emotional
intelligence with the articulation of thoughts. Along with this, an action plan was developed
by me in terms of enhancing my shortcoming.
