INTRODUCTION
Project title: Developing leadership development program for Beaumont care
Australia and other countries in the world are facing ageing population related
issues at workplace. By considering this, in both rural and urban areas, demand for
aged care services is increasing continuously. However, shortages in workforce and
lack of availability of talented staffs are the major issues which are faced by Australian
government and aged care homes. In order to deal with such kind of problem,
government was taken initiative but still conditions of carers, support staff and other
aged care has not improved (Aubrey and Will, 2004).
The main aim of the project is to develop leadership program in order to solve
issues faced by ageing population and professionals such as overworked, underpaid,
and lack in confidence etc. The project is based on the leadership style followed in
Beaumont care. In order to better deal with these kinds of issues, leaders and
leadership styles can play an important role in the aged care sector. In this regard, it is
essential for the management of firm to concentrate on developing leadership skills to
better deal with these kinds of challenges (Nessa and Judith, 2015). Qualities and
characteristics of leader including creativity and strategic, drive innovation, adapting
changing demands and leading the change can be helpful for care home to better deal
with challenges of an increasingly ageing population kind of problem.
The entire report will be prepared under the guidance of Academic supervisor.
The main role of researcher in this project is to develop leadership development
program for Beaumont care. In order to complete the project within stipulated time,
researcher will work with other team members for the initial 3months. Total 12 members
will work in project team and out of them, 5 workers will work in different areas such as
medical and human resource management etc.
BACKGROUND
Beaumont care organization
As per the given case scenario, Beaumont care was taken which provides facility to
residents who require secure and fully sustained care. This health care firm encourages
an individual resident to do likeable and meaningful activities and providing the best
possible experience to every people (Beaumont Care, 2015). Residents have choices to

spend time with their families and friends and maintaining long time relationship with
them. Besides that, care home emphasizes on establishing meaningful interactions,
projects, adventures and fun activities to extend best possible experience of aged care.
Other main services offered by Beaumont care can be explored as follow.
Family support groups provide comfort
Activities programs to engage residents (Finkleman, 2008)
Enterprise staff provides emotional and spiritual support for residents
Registered and Enrolled Nurses and Care personnel
Physiotherapist use consistent approach to improving the well-being of residents
Significance of the project
From the literature review and analysis and from the present health care
scenario, it is observed that shortages in workforce personnel, maintaining high
standards, overworked and underpaid related issues are creating problems for
organizations and Australian government to deal with such kinds of problems in a
significant manner. The project is related to development of leadership program for care
home. After studying this project, an individual will be able to understand the role of
leadership development program to mitigate challenges faced by aged care service
providers in Australia and across the world. The project is based on workforce related
issues, the leadership development program, project and change management.
PROJECT DEFINITION
The main goal of this project is to develop a management training program to
improve leadership competency of senior management staff at Beaumont care. The
present project supports a strategic approach to leadership development across the
world (James and Barry, 2012).

This is 11 months project and initial three months is spent on literature review

and understanding the leadership approaches used by care home. While 8 weeks’ time
will be required for collecting data using survey method from respondents (Moiden,
2003). The current project should attain minimum of 10% success. After completing the
project, conditions of Beaumont care in terms of leadership development and services
will be improved.
Constraints associated with project
Time constraints: The proper allocation of time towards various aspects is
required to measure levels of success (Thomas, 2004).
Resources constraints: In order to interact with leadership competency of
senior staff, organizes survey and availability of staff are essential to give
answers of questionnaires will require.
Skill constraints: In order to conduct survey and collect responses from senior
staff, adequate amount of social and language skills will be required (Byham and
et.al., 2002).

QUALITY CONTROLS
By taking feedback from academic and workplace supervisors on regular
intervals, it can be ensured that the project is of the best quality. Besides that, quality
and reliability of entire project plan can be enhanced by collecting data from authentic
sources. Success of project can be measured in terms of determining the quality policy,
objectives, and responsibilities and implements them in a proper manner.
For the purpose of improving quality, PDSA cycle can be considered (Nessa
and Judith 2015).
P: Plan: The project begins with meeting with supervisor and discussing about
the project implementation, resources required and Gantt chart for time frame. By
considering all criteria, project will be planned.
D: Do/Implement: In order to understand age care development strategy,
researcher had gone through Advance care planning training program held on 6th
of October. In this regard, proper approval from supervisor was taken. By
preparing Gantt chart and taking feedback from supervisor, doubts arise in the
project can be solved.
S/Study/Evaluation: Data evaluation and analysis task can be done. The success
of the project will be discussed with supervisor and other staff
A: Act: If the project is successful then sample size can be increased and all staff
of Beaumont care can be included (Health Leadership Development Program,
2014).
Control procedures
Contingency plan contains information about delays caused by factors such as
inability to access data from respondents and equipment failure etc.
Change control: The impact of change in schedule plan will be analyzed which helps

Schedule control: A reflection on the progress of the project on continuous basis will
