EXECUTIVE COACHING 1
Answer-1
I have interviewed the manager of a local café who organizes every day operations and provides
motivation to the staff members by applying Maslow’s needs theory of motivation. It means
satisfying human needs in hierarchical order so that they give outstanding services to the
customers. The manager’s tasks include arrangement of the shifts, monitoring daily expenditure,
earnings and manage coordination with the supplies to make orders like coffee, cups and other
ingredients which required (Gürel, 2017). As manager enhance the engagement of the customers
by acting on the customer’s comments, feedback given on the cork board of the café. He host a
special events which helps him to remain connected with the customers in an informal way and
increases the productivity .The manager also provides training to the workers in the cafe on
preparing the drinks and using the equipments of the coffee in correct manner.
Answer-2
The interest of the client in coaching was to increase the various skills of themselves like
communication, behavioral and punctuality. So that he can understand the information given by
the supervisor and behave accordingly. He also wants to guide the employees because they are
not working efficiently.
The client initial goals were to increase the productivity, building confidence. So that he can
overcome with the challenges, improved decision making skills. He has to become an autocratic
leader.
Answer-3
In the process of contracting the engagement
First I set all the groundwork which I want to do as it includes objective of
contracting which is to make the client an autocratic leader, improves communication
and leadership skills. It also includes the questions which I want to ask like why he
wants to be an autocratic leader. The timing of engagement is also decided in this step
according to the suitability and the assessment so that it will helps in making
judgment.

After that, when it is possible, face to face interaction is made in the beginning of the
meeting. Later on the conversation was made with the phone calls, emails and Skype
as per the requirement of the client and the program which he select. I suggested him
to apply situational theory which means to change leadership style according to the
situation and the task. I constantly provide important information to the client which
considered significant.
As all time I evaluate to see whether the objectives are achieved with the client and to
know that whether I was doing right. In this I also evaluate that information which I
gave is appropriate and relevant for the client or not. It is important to do evaluation
because it ensure that the goals are achieved and identifying the strength and
weakness (Burke & Noumair, 2015). It is done by taking short meetings with the
clients and through phone.
At last I have made the final evaluation by taking summary meeting with the client. It
is to make ensure that all the information is covered and motive of the engagement is
achieved by asking him questions to deal with the situations.

Stress of time and deadlines to complete the coaching.
Resistance to change by the client. As I want him to provide financial rewards to the
employees. So that they feel motivated but he resist.
Answer-6
The client wants to develop the participative skills. So that he can give the opportunity to other
employees to make decision and also to motivate the employees with little control. It is different
from the initial goal because the initial goal of the client is to become an autocratic leader.
Autocratic leaders are those who make the decision themselves. It does not receive advice from
other employees. He gives the directions to the employees to perform the given task in efficient
manner (Meyer & Meijers, 2017).
For the process of their evolution-
I teach the client and advice various steps which he has to follow while making decisions. After
that I provided the cases of various situations to the client so that he can give their opinion and
make decision. The steps include-
Gathering information based on the condition.
Examine the condition in both long and short term.
Understand the situation in depth
Take time to make decisions thoughtfully (Liraz, 2017)
Then I focused on strengthen the leadership and communication skills by advising him to-
Recruit the people of positive attitude
Reward your staff members, celebrate their achievements
Guide them in efficient manner, Take feedback
Listen carefully, focus on body language while talking and be specific (Gold &
Anderson, 2017).

Answer-7
The client’s view:-
The outcome is defined as the process that exists at the end. It is the end result of an action
(Borgonovi, Bianchi, & Anessi-Pessina, 2017). The client thinks that the style of the coaching
was practical and covers a broad range of area from making him punctual to make the efficient
decision. The coaching also helps him in improving the style of leadership by applying the
situational theory; develop the communication skill which also helps him to understand the
orders of the customers and his supervisor.
My views:-
I also think the coaching style was practical, I tried to provide all relevant information and
guidance to the client and also tried to communicate more with the client. I also think that
outcomes were positive as it encouraged the client to seek new approaches and ideas. He applied
the Vroom’s Expectancy theory to motivate the employees. It also helped him a lot in gaining a
actual insight about how he can leads the subordinates effectively by leading employees
according to the situation.
It also helped me in manage all the transitions, improved leadership and relationship skills and
also leads personality development.
Answer-8
Learning from coaching assignment:-It helps in developing interpersonal skills by
communicating and establishing relationship of trust with the client. The assignment helps in
increasing the knowledge by understanding the objective of coaching, adopting various
strategies, structure and ideas that will help the client. As in this assignment the relevant
additional information was provided to the client it helps me in understanding better and
develops the knowledge.
Implications for your future work- In future I again want to work for these types of assignment
as it helps in developing the knowledge which is considered most significant for the coaches.

EXECUTIVE COACHING 5
The actual experience was different as expected because it is considered the board concept, as it
allows me to think wide which improved the quality of thinking and gave a freedom to think.
It was quiet challenging because in coaching the coaches has to understand and explore more for
bringing up innovative ideas and it actually pushed to think in depth (Greiner, 2018). As in
coaching it is also important to maintain the relationship so that outcomes will be achieved in
effective manner (Athanasopoulou & Dopson, 2015).
Answer-10
I will do my next coaching engagement after one week and I will avoid mistakes which I have
made in this assignment like sometimes being judgmental and advising. As in coaching it is
important to take the feedback of the clients so that they can give their own ideas and solution
(Passmore, Goldsmith, & Underhill, 2018). I would try to being more focused so that I can
summarize and paraphrase the issue of the client. This will helps the client in looking back to the
issue again in an objective manner. I would also try to work on other aspects like I will work
with open minded and non judgmental skills.
