Introduction-
Leadership carries that ability of a person, individual or a group, which mainly influence
and guide the followers and the other members of the organization. In other words, leadership in
business helps them in maintaining the objectives so that they take the fast and the decisive
actions when needed (Leon, & Oleynick, 2015). Moreover, the work of leader is to outperform
when facing competition and inspire others to perform at the highest level so that it leads to the
enhancement an individual as well as helps in generating the organizational success (DuBrin,
2015).
Moreover, leadership in hospitality gives direction to the workers as well as organization
so that fulfillment of the objectives can be done. They have potential to influence others workers,
develop future visions and helps in motivating the organizational members to that both they can
achieve the set goals and visions by the organization (Antonakis, & Day, 2017).
Leader you admire and has been effective-
Easy jet one of the famous British airline which majorly operates in domestic and
international schedules services. Hence, it is seen there is a rapid expansion since the company
started growing through the various combinations of acquisitions and base openings mainly
fuelled by the consumer demand for the low cost travelling. McCall, the CEO of the easy jet is
one of the inspiring women who inspire everyone with her leadership quality.
By her innovative building techniques, strong commitment towards the working of the
organization makes her a good leader with which many employees gets inspire and work more
dedicatedly. She makes the smart use of external suppliers and the partners to deliver an
important component of the services to the ultimate customers (Former, & Albright, 2015).
She knows that leadership is that aspect which mainly contributes in the success and the
failure of the easy jet, as there can be the relationships of the leadership style, motivation, and
employee performance. For this aspect, McCall applies the transformation style of leadership in
which transformational qualities helps in improvement in performance beyond the set
expectations while operating along with the measures of carrying out the travel effectiveness.

Furthermore, it was also seen that McCall is one of the finest leaders among all as she is
one of the customers focused leader with the huge amount of courage. As this shows that easy jet
follows the customers centric approach not only on the basis to attract more of customers but
also listen to them, their issues, their problems while travelling, providing them the various
services so that the company could meet the expectation of the customers. Not only this, to see
all such things are happening or not McCall visits and travel in easy jet, talk to their customers
directly that what are they linking and not liking in the services. Therefore, this all highlights that
making or keeping a direct contact with customers on the regular basis is the finest approach by a
leader, which makes him/her the greatest leader among all. Other than this, accumulating
expertise in customers’ centricity in this McCall believes in learning from the best and sharing
best practices and believes in facilitating the true empowerment (Walker, & Aritz, 2015).
Thus, above all as a leader she also cross the boundaries to generate the enterprise wide
results and works really harder to attain the set objectives by the organization, measuring the
success differently. She also keeps focusing on incremental progress and quick wins but with the
big picture in her mind. Lastly, the success of the easy jet is in her hand only because she
communicates with the ultimate customers and also works and lives by the customers’ centric
values by directly contacting to the staff members for knowing about the issues or directly with
the customers. So, that on time action can be taken and further that issue should be converted
into the satisfaction of the customers (Walker, & Aritz, 2015).
Leadership styles, behavior and approaches
Transformation style of leadership is that in which leaders encourages, inspires and also
motivate employees to think and work in an innovative way and helps them in changing,
growing and shaping the future success of the organization. The characteristics which
transformational leaders carries within oneself is inspiration which is given to the employees to
perform better, it also leads to mobilization, because leadership helps in mobilizing people into
groups which makes the work easier. Other than this, a leader in this case feels energetic,

aspect but also makes the person prepare to be future leader. Thus, being genuine, passionate,
supportive and trustworthy helps the people to get motivate the followers to achieve the set target

objectives. Along with this, it mainly equates to many leadership competencies, which as self-
management, self- observations and self-motivation which helps them in taking the purposeful

According to my analysis, I have self-awareness as one of the quality in which
understanding the strength and the weaknesses, knowing about the intentions and the value as
well as knowing about the push buttons in life, which helps in achieving the positive results.
Other than this, self-confidence is also one of the trait features, which I have in me, which helps
me in; know my strength and ability to work more. Hence, by developing and facing more
actions and skills makes us more confident.
Other than this, what I have seen in me is that I also possess the quality of influence, such
skills helps in easy communication the vision and the goals, aligning the efforts the others and
building commitment so that we can easily get things done and achieve the desired goals and the

disciplined and also highlights and make them independent decision maker.
According to the three core areas at which I need to work over maintaining and
generating the self- efficacy, in which whatever comes in way with the use of confidence the
person can handle it easily. With self-efficacy one can be more innovate and creative. Hence,
with such development of feature, I can develop my creative skills and with confidence and self-
efficacy, I can handle every hardcore situation faced in future (Clark, 2015).
Another aspect at which I need to work over is forming effective decision timely. For
being a good leader, it is also seen that how good and effective decisions one can make. Hence,
this can be developed by facing, reading more of situations and learn to take decision over them.
As, it is seen that people often learn from various situation held in their life and from those
mistakes the learn how to further handle the situation at that particular time when solution is in
need.
Thirdly, an ability to grow and adapt to continue to learn and develop more of
competencies such as being action oriented skills development of building teams, building trust
and improves personal accountability. In addition, works over critical and analytical thinking as
all such aspects makes the person to outperform well in the future in organization or in the
hospitality business, which he/ she join. Such features highlights about the persons high-
potential towards work and displays that person steps into the leadership position to generate the
future success.
This mainly highlights about the leadership trait theory, which mainly displays the
features such as one’s interest, abilities, self-confidence, cognitive ability, motivation, emotional
maturity and develops charisma, creativity and flexibility while working in future. Every person
should develop such kinds of features helps person to grow as a good leader, these natural talents
needs a bit encouragement and development. Nobody is born with self-confidence, that need to
be developed with experience whereas honesty and integrity comes within the person which

Leadership development plan
Leadership development action plan is one of the way to develop the key leadership
qualities and the competencies which can be further applied by the potential future leaders and
this is the two-way step in which both employee and organization is in commitment to perform
well for themselves as well as for the organizations. This is all because to drive out the
productive results. In this, leaders do their self-assessment whether they are well equipped with
skills so that they gain more of productive and get successful for gaining profitable results.
Action plan-
Firstly, do self-assessment- as the self- assessment tool majorly helps the person in
highlighting the strength, which he/she possess within them. As this self-assessment within us
displays that, we possess self-confidence, and self-awareness while working which helps in
growing further qualities and skills if a person carries confidence within oneself.
Secondly creating a life mission statement- in this, according to analysis, this helps in
providing the insights about the qualities, which we are possessing, and what all we need to
grasp. Such motivation from the set of skills will helps in guiding the development efforts, which
a person makes and leads to the set direction to achieve the long term goals. Other than this,
according to my analysis, mission is to work over building self-efficacy, forming a effective
decision making power, and to work over growing and adapting new opportunities and facing
challenges (Sosik, & Jung, 2018).
Thirdly, Activate strength in which one has to maximized their potential and performance
and apply its strength to gain other abilities, which all contributes to gain high performance in
future.
Fourthly, finding a mentor or the person who will helps in building the qualities, abilities
and potentials, which will further helps us in growing more than usual. Hence, the mentor will
helps us in fulfilling the remaining qualities such as decision making power my giving more
situation and challenges and working over critical and analytical thinking by giving more
situation in that way. This all helps in improving the set skills for future (Walker, & Aritz, 2015).

developing the varieties set of skills within oneself. For that, facing turnarounds, startups,
working over projects, tasks, managing the crisis and make decision for the challenging
situations are the certain ways to improve the abilities to further face the life situations. Hence ,
all such practices helps the person in developing the areas which will helps them in improving
the performance and the success. This process almost takes 5to 6 months to develop those skills
and abilities to further face challenges and to attain the future course of actions (Baron, & Parent,
2015).
Lastly, measuring the progress is one of the step highlights that certain measures are
established to evaluate the set plan on the regular basis. Hence, this step mainly helps in tracking
the progress towards the improvements made in abilities and skills so that the person can further
face the challenges as well as performance well in his/ her life by making use of these abilities,
qualities and skills. In this they keeps on communicating with their leaders about the progress
reports, updates and further gather the feedback on which they need to work upon more to
archive them within the set time frame. Regular assessing the plan helps in forming new
strategies through which to address the deficiencies and the problems, which are encountered,
will be easier and within time, the method can be changes, which will not hamper the process of
progress, and hence, within time, the qualities will be upgraded and future success will be
sustained (Yahaya, & Ebrahim, 2016).

From the above report, we can conclude that, Leadership is one of the finest qualities to
upgrade in the life. Success always their if a person possess the leadership qualities such as
confidence, decision making power to face any challenges in life, being influencing, being

such factors are the most important trait, which the leaders need to have as all these aspects,
helps them in future success in self-building as well as organizational success attainments.
