DYNAMIC LEADERSHIP 3
Introduction
A dynamic leader is someone who inspires others to become dynamic leaders. There is a
principle of dynamic leadership which states that a leader has solid determination, influential
personality and has the ability to influence others to achieve their goals (Schoemaker, Heaton, &
Teece, 2018). Therefore, a leader is considered as the person who supports other person in order
to achieve the efficiency in the task performed by that person. A dynamic leader measures the
abilities and qualities to empower and motivate others. It not only means to take the ownership
of the position rather it defines and clarifies the ability of the leader to exercise the ability to
mentor, provide guidance, coaching and take feedback of the fellow surroundings (Sotarauta,

plan which specifies steps to be taken to achieve a managerial position. It includes building self-
awareness and developing the leadership skills that are required for the desired position.

GROW Model
GROW model is useful in exploring useful steps for a journey to become a leader. This
model is used as coaching model for solving a problem, setting a goal and improving the

leader, I will use this model for my goal of becoming a leader. I will use this model in the
following way:
Goal
I will choose an inspirational goal and will keep my energy increased and keep myself for
the achievement of the goal. As my goal is to become an effective leader in 5 years, it is a long-
term goal which is attainable, specific, acceptable, realistic and timely.
Reality
In the second step of GROW model, I will evaluate my current situation and will also
realize the obstacles that I could face in future. In this, I will evaluate myself by analyzing my
own strengths and weaknesses. This can only be done through examining my current reality
which will decide my starting point.

leadership journey, I will use start a creative brainstorming process to generate ideas and also
take suggestions from others. I will take decisions regarding selecting the best option and will
also evaluate the cos and pons of my decision.
Will
This will step of GROW model clarifies one decision taken among the alternatives and
taking a course of action. For my journey of becoming a leader, I will consider this step as my
plan of action for my leadership plan. I will analyze the obstacles and will strategies to avoid
them and I will also measure my motivation level and will make every effort make my plan
work.

Feedback To and From Others
Feedback plays a vital role in personal development. Feedback from others is important
for a person in the personal development as it provides suitable opportunities to improve the
skills and also enhances the engagement with others (Steffens, et al., 2018). Similarly, in my
journey of becoming a successful leader, I will take continuously take feedback from peers,
classmates and teachers in order to increase the personal development. Also, for becoming
effective leader I will give feedback to the subordinates in order to make them feel engaged. I
will also praise them for their significant contribution into the performance of the organization.
Feedback from others
For self-development, it is essential to take regular feedback from the people that a
person interacts on daily basis. However, it is difficult to ask for a feedback from others as it may
be hesitating to ask to be criticized and judged (Valckx, Devos, & Vanderlinde, 2018). Similar, I
will also take feedback from peers, teachers and the others to whom I interact on daily basis.
Feedback is important for me as it will help me in improving my skills and abilities. Receiving
feedback also helps in evaluating the expectations of others from me. Seeking feedback from
other also plays a vital role in attaining knowledge. I should take feedback from the others in
order to improve the performance and this also allows me an opportunity to discover new ways
to enhance my performance as a whole.
Feedback to others
It is important for a leader to give feedback from the subordinates as it helps in creating
an understanding between them and also helps in making them feel engaged (Steffens N. , et al.,
2018). Similarly, in my journey of becoming a leader, I will give feedback from the subordinates
or any other immediate subordinate from me. It will explain them their jobs, responsibilities and
the benefits that the employees are getting within the workplace. I will also give feedback of
their job performance and will praise them for their accomplishments. As a leader, it is important

for a person in the personal development as it provides suitable opportunities to improve the
skills and also enhances the engagement with others (Steffens, et al., 2018). Similarly, in my

For self-development, it is essential to take regular feedback from the people that a
person interacts on daily basis. However, it is difficult to ask for a feedback from others as it may
be hesitating to ask to be criticized and judged (Valckx, Devos, & Vanderlinde, 2018). Similar, I

Use of Reflective and Reflexive Practice
Reflective and reflexive practices are two different practices. Reflective practice is based
upon thinking approach. It is based upon learning from experience and is critical in nature as
various factors are evaluated (Brockbank, McGill, & Beech, 2017). On the other hand, reflexive
practice is purely based upon the actions. In this, actions are taken without any analysis and
focus is on the main goal. Similarly, as far as my journey is concerned, I will use the technique
of reflective and reflexive in building self-awareness and achieving self-development. I will use
the reflective practice through learning through my own experiences. This practice starts with
thinking. Therefore I will start thinking my vision of becoming an effective leader and also think
about various events and analyze the environment to examine the changes. I can use this practice
for dealing with real, complex and difficult situations. This technique is used for gaining insights
from the experiences through personal responses.
On the other hand reflective approach is different from reflexive approach. I can use the
reflexive approach for making my efforts in the direction of one goal. I will use this practice
without making any evaluations and analysis and will take crucial steps focusing towards the
long term goal. Therefore, it can be analyzed that both the approaches are helpful in analyzing
my potential and establishing self-development (Johns, 2017). In the process of continuous
learning for my personal development, I will take experiences or learning from my own or other
people’s actions. I will look behind my past actions and will have a look on actions, responses
and experiences and I will use that information as an addition to my existing knowledge. This
practice can create a higher level of understanding between me and other people as well. This
concept is important for learning and as far as my journey is concerned, I am having a goal of
achieving self-development. Therefore, it will be fruitful for me to gain learning through this
practice as this practice enhance the analytical capacity of me to take right decision and also
helpful in increasing the self-awareness which will automatically lead to increase in the personal
development of me as a leader.
