INTRODUCTION
In order to operate the organization in an effective and efficient manner leading the
organization with efficient leadership qualities is very important, as a leader sets out the outline
of doing the work in line with the organization objectives and goals as well as make sure that it is
communicated to the subordinates in the same manner without any ambiguity (Brown and
Treviño, 2006). The concept can also be termed as the ability to lead a group or an organization.
Further because of its rising importance in smooth functioning of the organization different
leadership styles and practices have come into force which are setting a benchmark for future
budding leaders to follow. The following report is carried out on the analysis done on the
concept of leadership. The below mentioned objectives consists of the characteristics of effective
leadership and further a self awareness process has been explained.
ASSESSMENT 1
The below mentioned are the characteristics of an effective leader
Risk Taker.
There are many great changes that are to be expected to be brought by the an effective
leader and the changes are meant to be with risks. As the life passes away there are many
changes and challenges to be faced. And dealing with these changes and the challenges reflects
on on how an individual can grow itself as a leader. A strong leader is very much creative and
new approaches are tried even if present has faced many failures (Brown, Treviño and Harrison,
2005).
Self control.
Remaining calm in the worst situations and even in the worst of conflicts can be
considered as the ability of a strong leader and also is a character trait that must be nurtured and
grown. The slogan which can be used and suits to a leader is, “When you lose your temper, you
lose.” And this can also be explained as the leader is a well-defined character of those who
express self-control.
Modesty
Self-evaluation can be considered as one of the most strong characteristic of an effective
leader. No problems will be raised by being evaluated or receiving criticism and this is also a

feature of the good leader. Corrections cant be enjoyed or entertained by any individual but an
effective leader sees it for what it is an opportunity for personal growth.
ASSESSMENT 2
Literature review about the the leadership, leadership competencies and self awareness
are explained below.
Self awareness: The concept is related to the growth and development of business and is
a factor of business building success and also is not a new insight. The essential components
which are required to become self aware. The leader should test itself in order to become more
aware about the strength and weaknesses and also can conduct personality tests such as Myers
Briggs, predictive index and strength finder (Goleman, Boyatzis and McKee, 2013).
Leadership competencies: The managers need to handle a huge burden of the
responsibilities of an organization and in order to that they need to develop many types of
leadership competencies. The leaders need to be clear about their assigned responsibilities and
also should have priorities about the tasks to be performed. The leader should also need to
possess a quality of proper delegation of the work and also should have a respect towards the sub
ordinates and also for the superiors.
Leadership: The leaders are those person or the individuals who help themselves and
others to do the right things The leaders are meant to be set direction, build an inspiring vision,
and create something new and is also concerned with the mapping out where the individuals
need to reach to go to "win" as a team or an organization; and it is dynamic, exciting, and
inspiring.
ASSESSMENT 3
Emotional intelligence is the ability of managing and understanding own emotions and
also of those individuals who are connected (Schein, 2006). The leaders should have a stable
degree of emotional intelligence and also should have a feeling of understanding what are the
co-workers or the team members are feeling, and also these emotions should have a positive
impact on the individuals. The leaders, having emotional intelligence is essential for success. The
values are also of very much significance for the personality of the leader. Honesty is the best
policy and the leader must be required to be honest in his work and also towards his co-workers
and the organization he works with. Delegation of equal work should be done by him in order to
maintain a sense of equality in the workplace.

The leader of the company have to do the proper work (Kouzes and Posner, 2006). Along
with this they have to do the proper responsibilities so that they can not face any problem. In the
small business enterprise, the company manager have to assign the roles and responsibilities to
the leader and the leader have to do the proper work with the effective manners so that they can
attain the success and the targets. Leaders of the company having the great potential so that they
can do any type of work which the manager assigned. Leader have to do that proper task they
have to make the proper plans for doing the any work which help the leader in attaining the goals
and by that entity can easily achieve the targets. Leader having the different roles which they
have to follow so that they can attain the leading position in the small industry.
