INTRODUCTION
In this report there are effective leadership style used by Jeff Bezos in order to run his
company effectively and manage his employees (Crowell and Boynton, 2020). Jeff Bezos is
CEO and also have stake in amazon. He has used a number of styles and techniques in order to
develop and grow the business of amazon. He found out an effective leadership style through
which he encouraged and motivated employees in his company. The following report consists of
reflective learning on personal as well as professional development. It also consists of various
instances of acquiring skills and using them in a profession. This report also includes controlling
and monitoring methods of these skills.

Task one which was to understand leadership style used by Jeff Bezos was very helpful for
me in order to generate a number of skills in myself. It helped me to understand various
employability options which are attached to these skills. It also explained what are the necessity
of a leader in order to make sure that a group or team is working effectively and efficiently.
Through the help of this there were various skills which I developed in myself while I was
working on this task (Brawley, 2019). I am sure that all these following skills will help me in
future to attain all the objectives I have set for myself.
While understanding what are the necessity a leader requires I came to know that communication
skills remain an important part. However when I self judged myself I came to know that I
somewhere lack in communication skills. It has to be both written as well as oral
communication. As a leader necessary requires to make sure that all the information is
communicated well to every member in team. It is the duty of the leader to divide the roles and
responsibilities in an organisation. Therefore, leader needs to communicate this information to
the team member effectively and also overcome any queries of their. I made sure that I practice
the skill of communication in order to make my communication skills better. I took various

classes which helped me to communicate effectively. Now I can say that I have proper
communication skills so that I can effectively communicate all the required information to the
receiver.
This report also helped me to understand the importance of research. In this report I
research have been done on Jeff Bezos and the leadership style which is followed by him in
order to manage Amazon which is his organisation and also employs working in that
organisation. With the help of this task I came to know that there are the two different types of
researches which can be conducted. First one is primary research in which fresh data is collected
from market. The secondary research is the second type of research in which data is collected
from different sources (Greene, 2019). This includes newspaper, magazine, already existing
reports and a number of other mediums. In the following report I have used secondary data
which I collected from a number of articles which have been published about Jeff Bezos and
some of his interviews also.
While completing this task I also understood the importance of a team. It is not necessary
that every team works efficiently from the beginning itself. It is often seen that there are a
number of people in a team all of those have different beliefs and values. It is difficult for a
person to accept the thinking of another. This creates conflicts in our team. Due to these conflicts
the objective of team could not be completed and the goal are unfinished. Therefore, it is
required for a person in a team to act as a leader who can manage everyone and resolve any
conflicts taking place. I worked as a leader in this team and made sure that there are no conflicts
within team members and every member is working effectively completing all their
responsibilities.
Another important skill which every individual needs to have his time management. It is
necessary that every person can manage time as well as self in order to develop personal skills.
While completing this task I came to know that I do not divide time for every task equally and
end up with some of the task left to do when the time of completion is already passed. I learned
that there can be a schedule made which will be helpful in completing the task in time. In this
schedule every Task will be recorded according to their priority. The most prior an important
task will be completed first carried out on by the second. In this way one can effectively manage
time. Managing time also helps in self-management (Tamadonfar, 2019). If a person is not

managing self efficiently they cannot be a leader. I developed all these skills of time
management and self-management so that I can act as a leader in a team.
Task will be recorded according to their priority. The most prior an important task will be
completed first carried out on by the second. In this way one can effectively manage the time.
Managing time also helps in self-management. If a person is not managing self efficiently, they
cannot be a leader. I developed all these skills of time management and self-management so that
I can act as a leader in a team.
It is also mentioned that there are a number of problems arising while working on a task.
Therefore, I developed problem-solving skills (Offermann and Coats, 2018). This helps me in
critically analysing the problems and bringing out a solution for the problems without wasting
time. In our team we made sure that everyone came up with an idea to solve the problem and the
best idea was chosen and applied in order to solve the problem arise.
I used the model of Kolb’s reflection which is an experimental learning model. This
model states that learning is generated from one’s own experience. There are some of the steps
included which our concrete experience, reflective observation, conceptualization of abstract and
an active experimentation. It is often seen that when a problem arises while performing a task
one often depends on their past and experiences of facing the same problem. The best way is
decided to face the problems and all the theoretical knowledge is used in order to solve it. In this
way reflective learning is developed.
I also had to monitor my performance while completing this task. In this I took the help
of all those working with me which included my team members, peers, colleagues and
instructors. They provided me with feedback and helped me in understanding how can I increase
my efficiency and performance.
While completing this task I also analyse that there are a number of strengths and
weaknesses in me. I am a team worker and also want to be a leader. For which I worked on my
communication skills. This project helped me in analysing all my skills and making sure how do
I develop the skills which I do not have. In this way I analysed all my strength while completing
this task.
In the end while completing this project I developed a professional development method so
that I can effectively work on my reflective learning. Through this I can make sure that
continuous development of my personal and professional skills is taking place. In order to carry

this out effectively I make sure that I have planned everything before doing it (Roka, 2018). At
the end of execution I keep a check and monitor the deviation between planning and results. If
there is any difference in plant and execution I make sure that I find out the reason behind it I
will work on it so that from next time there is no deviation. In this way I made sure that along
with completing the task I also have continuous development of all my skills related to personal
and professional life.
CONCLUSION
Through the following report one can conclude the importance of leadership for every
organisation. It is necessary for every leader in a company to encourage and motivate their
employees. They need to invest all their devotion in fulfilment of goals of objectives of
organisation as well as of employees. Transformational leadership style used by Jeff Bezos is
also described in the report. The reflection of a group task is presented which represents various
skills required for personal as well as professional development. It can also be concluded that
reflective learning process helps in continuous developments of various skills in a person.
