As per given in the article by Shikhar Sarin and Gina Colarelli O’Connor, there is a brief
explanation of the concepts by graph regarding the characteristics of a good leader along with the
goal path theory. For becoming a good leader from the team member, there are different types of
theories and every theory has its own style. Following are some of the theories mentioned in the
article:
Supportive leadership style: In this, there is the main focus on considering the members
of the team and the leader always try to maintain a healthy communication with all
members which shows the interest and wellbeing of the members.
Participative leadership style: In this style, the main focus on the involvement of team
members in the decision-making process and moreover, this style always interacts with
the members of their team.
Directive leadership style: This style is different from the rest one in which the leader
himself organizes and directs the things of the team and also leader gives proper guidance
to his team regarding what to do and how to do.
In the second article, DeRue, Barnes, and Morgeson (2010) have described the rewarding system
in the organization and I do believe that this is very true. People who are rewarded and who are
appreciated tend to do more work with enthusiasm.
I have concluded from the article that the staff people are of different personalities a background,
leadership depends largely on the people an what he will best to. The best person should adjust
his style according to the situation and also according to the people who are being led by him.

As per the given article, the charismatic leader is one who is very motivational for improving the
skills of his team and he enables them to achieve the targets. I have been working in an
environment in which I do have the team and I just have a manager which I would report. He
was a mixture of participative and directive leadership. He does his job well and always listen to
my point of view. We have one to one interaction and he is very much clear and directional
regarding his needs.
