Literature Review
Theme 1: concept of leadership styles
According to Bratton (2020) leadership is the action through which a person lead a group
in an organization. There are different types of leadership style such that democratic leadership
style, which is also known as participative leadership style in which a leader seeks employee
opinions before approving a final decision (Different types of leadership style, 2019). This help
to maintain the trust and promote team spirits from employees and it also allow for creativity so

that they could grow and develop themselves. On the other side, Solinger, Jansen and
Cornelissen (2020) also present their own views for autocratic leadership style which is not used
by the company’s leader because it is rigid in nature, and also demand for quick decisions.
Under this leadership style, leader of the company did not consult with employees in order to
take any decision and that is why, it creates communication pitfalls. Through this style,
employees of the company also feel isolated and they did not provide extra efforts and as a
result, most of them leave.
On the other side, Lu, Nisbett and Morris (2020) stated that Chairsmatic leadership can
transform the attitude and beliefs in employees. Under this, leaders inspire people and also effect
great change but on the other side, they also ignore the needs of the people and ideas and this
sometimes leads to make mistakes that creates negative impact upon the company’s brand
image.
Theme 2: impact of leadership style over the performance and satisfaction of employees
In the opinion of Adam, Indradewa and Syah (2020) leadership styles have a great
influence on the employee’s job satisfaction as well as organizational commitment. Employee
performance is directly depend upon the leadership styles such that if the leader uses democratic
leadership styles then it helps to keep motivating employees performance and this in turn helps
to meet the define aim and objectives as well. On the other side, it leader uses autocratic
leadership style which means they did not involve employees in decision making process that
creates negative impact. Thus, it is clearly reflected that leadership styles are completely relies
upon the style which leaders opted.
Moreover, on the other side, it is also stated by Parker and Reams (2020) that leadership
plays an important role in the success of business and employee job satisfaction. Such that only
styles feel employee satisfied and generate confidence among them by realizing that they are also
an important part of the company. As a result, it helps to improve the productivity of the
company and reduce waste by increasing employee satisfaction level. Also, leadership style
creates direct impact upon the employee performance personally and professionally. So that it
will help to meet the define aim and objectives.

Theme 3: challenges faces by Tesco during satisfying the employees through effective use of
leadership style
Riyanto and Panggabean (2020) stated that cultural issues are consider one of the greatest
issue that affect the overall business and it also affect the satisfaction level of the company too.
Further, it is also analyzed that Tesco have diversified workforce and that is why, it is essential
for the company’s leader to opt the best leadership style and let their employees know about
every specific problem. On the other side, it is also analyzed that if leader opt wrong leadership
style then it affect the entire working environment of the company which in turn affect the
business brand image. That is why, choosing best leadership style as per the situation will help
the company to overcome many challenges.
Bratton (2020) stated that extreme pressure among employees is also consider another
negative impact upon the company and this is also leads to creates employee dissatisfaction. As
every company have workload, at that time, leader not to take any wrong leadership style which
leads to creates dissatisfaction among employees and most of them leave a workplace. That is
why, leaders must opt best leadership style in order to make better solutions and this will help to
keep employee motivated and attract towards a positive working environment as well.

help to increase the knowledge and determine new styles which will also use by the researcher’s
in their future project. Also, another rationale for choosing this topic is such that scholar have
their own interest in study on this particular topic so that it provide new insights and enhance the
existing level of knowledge as well. Further, this topic also helps to determine the ways through
which leaders may opt different leadership styles which are beneficial for the company’s success.
That is why, study on this particular topic will help to learn related to leadership styles and its
impact upon the employee performance. Therefore, research on the topic of leadership also assist
to examine the challenges which a leader face in order to satisfy the need of employees and

Research Methodology
It is the process which is used to determine and select the data related a topic. Moreover,
this section also allow reader to critically evaluate the study’s overall validity.
Research Philosophy: It is the belief or notion about a way through which the data is
gathered, analyzed and used by a researcher. It is of four types i.e. Interpretivism, Realism,
Pragmatism and Positivism (Willmott, 2020).
Among all, researcher will chooses Interpretivism research philosophy that helps to
interpret the results in better manner as compared to other methods. Through this method,
researcher also integrates the human interest into a study and meet the aim i.e. to analyze the
relationship of different Leadership style with employee satisfaction.
Research Approach: It is thee plan and process which is consist of different steps and
take it into a broad assumptions of detailed method of data and its interpretation. It is also of
three types i.e. Inductive, deductive and Abductive (Dion and et.al., 2020).
Among all, researcher will chooses Inductive research approach because it is start with
the observation and the current study is also used qualitative research type and that is why,
different theories are used that helps to generate best result or outcomes that help to meet the aim
i.e. to analyze the relationship of different Leadership style with employee satisfaction.
Research Type: There are three types of research type i.e. Mixed, qualitative and
quantitative. In which researcher will chooses qualitative research approach in which number
and figures are not used and it is completely focused on the narrative while quantitative research
type is based upon the numbers and statistics. Further, researcher also chooses this method in
order to analyze the human elements and collect all the non- numerical information that assist to
conduct the entire study in more precise manner. Also, through this method, researcher easily
answer the research question and meet the objectives as well.
Sampling: It is the process which is used in the statistical analysis in which a
predetermined number of different observation is taken from thee large population (Abadie and
et.al., 2020). There are two types of sampling method i.e. Probability and non- probability
sampling.

Among these, researcher will chooses, simple random sampling method under probability
sampling method in which 20 employees of the Tesco are selected. Through which questions are
asked that helps to analyze the relationship of different Leadership style with employee
satisfaction. Also, this method helps to conduct the method in more precise manner and also
assist to determine the actual views of all the selected sample in order to get the answer of
research questions.
Data Collection and analysis
Data Collection: It is the method of collecting and analyzing the data in which the
research get the answers and evaluated the outcomes. There are two types of research collection
method which are used by researcher i.e. primary and secondary (Tsuyunashi and et.al., 2020).
Under primary method, questionnaire is prepared which is email to all the selected respondents
in their email-id. This questionnaire is assist to get the exact answer and meet the define aim.
Further under secondary data collection method, researcher chooses relevant latest books,
articles, journals, newspaper in order to meet the aim. These resources are published from 2016
onward so that it will help to analyze the relationship of different Leadership style with
employee satisfaction.
Data Analysis: It is a detail method of cleaning, transforming and modeling collected
information which are useful for decision making. Through this, researcher present the views of
all the collected sample in better manner. There are two types of data analysis method i.e.
qualitative and quantitative (Senave and et.al., 2020).
Among all, researcher will chooses thematic data analysis under qualitative method in
which different themes are presented and tables, pictures graphs are used in order to interpret the
results of respondents. Also, this method helps to analyze the relationship of different Leadership
style with employee satisfaction by getting the views from 20 employees of Tesco.
Report project Outcome
By conducting the proper research methodology, it will be easy for the researcher to
generate accurate answer of the research questions. As from the literature review, it is analyzed
that there is a direct relationship of different Leadership style with employee satisfaction because
all the authors are completely agree that of the company have good and effective leadership
