This dissertation investigates the influence of leadership on job satisfaction and employee engagement within Marks and Spencer. The study begins with an overview of leadership concepts, the importance of effective leadership in organizations, and the background of Marks and Spencer. It then examines the research problem, objectives, and rationale for the study, including the research questions. A literature review explores the concept of leadership, its importance, and its impact on employee outcomes. The methodology section details the quantitative research design using a sample of 50 Marks and Spencer employees, who completed a Leadership Questionnaire. The results and discussion chapters analyze the data, interpret findings, and discuss the impact of leadership styles, with a focus on democratic leadership. The dissertation concludes with recommendations for Marks and Spencer on implementing effective leadership to enhance employee satisfaction, engagement, and retention. The study aims to contribute to the understanding of leadership's role in organizational success, providing valuable insights for both academics and practitioners.
