From the discussion, there are a few points that I think need clarification though most of
the discussion is clearly constructed. One of the areas that I think needs clarification is the part
where he gives us the reason behind his choice of the article. As regards this summary that
student provides, it covers similar areas with those covered with the different materials that we
have discussed in this unit. However, the post does differ to some extent with the materials
especially on the approach that it gives on leadership behavioral and decision-making process.
Moreover, I believe that the article that the student chose on leadership needs clarification
especially on how he summarizes the author’s claims and argument. He needed to capture the
key factors that affect emotional intelligence among leaders.
I also think that he needed to clarify some of the points related to the fact that emotional
acceptance is one of the key attributes of leaders and decision-making process. The point on the

Any team without a leader is just like a boat in the middle of a lake that does not know
where to float. Besides being a good leader, it is imperative to master how to be a relatively good
team member in order to achieve a well aligned team. The most motivating thing in an
occupational setting or society is to be a part of an integral team whereby one’s input is
acknowledged. I will focus on the fundamental characteristics that one should have to be a good
leader and an equally good member of a team as these are the most critical aspects of leadership
and teamwork which is the main reason as to why they are virtually hidden in the definition of a
team. One of the main reasons as to why teams are failing today is because team members
starting from the leader to the subordinates lack the insights of what it entails to be good leaders
and team members.
Being motivated and working in commitment to the set objectives of the team is one of
the most important aspects of being a good leader and team member since this helps create
synergies among all the team members. Being a good leader and team member demands the
ability of critical thinking and motivation (Ruben and Gigliotti, 2016, p.473). Excellent
leadership, team performance, and membership are sharpened by the rapid ability to evolve and
