In response to the post, I would like to state that my opinion also supports the leaders
displaying good ethics. According to the study conducted by Özbağ (2016), the 10 important
ethical characteristics that must be displayed by the leaders include justice for all; giving
respect towards others; delivering honesty in decision making process; focusing on
humanized approach and team building; value driven decision-making; active initiative in
showing positive environment in team; value added awareness; zero tolerance towards ethical
violations.
A leader having respect towards the other member of the team can be displayed by
showing respect to the religious, spiritual and cultural belief of the respective team-members
while listening to their concerns by displaying active listening skills (Hassan et al., 2013).
Showing liberal attitude towards spiritual and cultural thoughts help to create a positive work
environment where every team member feels valued. Moreover, it is up-hold the principle of
the freedom of executing the spiritual and religious believes.
Palazzolo's belief of ideal leadership is based on famous persons. However, famous
personalities at times fail to connect with the real-life situations and thus creating barrier
towards the effective team building by managing conflict of interest (Özbağ, 2016).
Thus, I believe a leader must practice transformational leadership where the team
leaders are given ample scope to express their concerns and thoughts.
