1BUSSINESS OR ETHICS?
I do not agree with the viewpoint of the consultant in this regard. Bad customer
reviews do have the potential of driving the people away from the business and the company.
For striving in this contemporary world, leaders need to strive for building healthy
relationship with their customers and this can be done through putting their needs first over
anything else.
I do believe leaders should put ethical issues first over business issues in such a
competitive business environment. This would help them in building the right path of entry
into the new areas of growth and development (Daft, 2017). It is very important for the
leaders to develop reliance, trust and faith among the customers regarding services and
product for ensuring long-term growth. If I were in the place of the consultant, I would have
strived for developing trusting relationship with my customers. I would have solved the
ethical issues first so that I can address the business issues very effectively. I believe that
from the organisational viewpoint solving ethical issue is the key part of any business for its
long term growth and success. Therefore, a leader must focus on ethical issues first in order
to strive in the organisation as well as in the globalised world of business. Along with the
help of corporate governance and social responsibility, leaders could satisfy their customers’
basic desires and needs (Daft, 2016). They have not distracted the leaders from the business
issues but are helping them in developing a better relation with their customers and
communities.
