It can be said that the ethics of are one of the most crucial factors that determine the
viability of functionality of an organisation or enterprise, regardless of the style of
functioning of the organisation (Ferrell & Fraedrich, 2015). It has been found out that
companies who are directly aligned to the goals of welfare of certain groups and have been
liable of the nature of operations of people in the community. I have been successful in
critically adjudging the efficacy of topics related to the importance of ethics in the framework
of the operations of the business. The existence of various ethical issues while an
organization operates subjects the viability of same (Cheng et al., 2018). The cases involving
the majestic hotels and the tigers escape from the zoo are examples of what happens when
ethic is not implemented properly. Thus, the aim of the assignment is to determine the
effectiveness of the decision-making processes of the individuals and protagonists of the case
with the help of ethical diagnostic tools such as value questionnaires and MIC.
The tiger case
The case that deals with the escape of the tiger from the zoo led to catastrophic
consequences in the form of loss of human capital. Several zoo attendants were harmed and
some were even killed. It can be said that the attendants of the zoo are responsible for the
action that transpired. It is the role of the attendants of the zoo to strictly monitor the cages
and the confines that the wild animals are kept in. Carrying out the same ensures their safety,
as well as the safety of the people who come to see the animals at zoos. The protection and
the safety of the visitors of a zoo should be the aim of all the attendants of the zoo. However,
laziness from their end resulted in inattention and gaps in monitoring which helped the wild
beast in its motive to escape the confinement. The tiger is a wild animal and thus it cannot be
deemed responsible for what transpired in the zoo. The big cat acted in a way it is supposed
to (Fraser et al., 2013). However, the degree of carelessness from the part of the management
is the reason behind them being accountable for the attack that happened in the zoo. I

personally enjoy seeing wild animals up close. Even though I enjoy the latter, I have realized
the importance of letting the animals out in the wild as they are supposed to be. Thus, I feel
that they should rather be let free in the wild rather than being confined in small spots. The
values of the management of the zoo are violated and they are not able to perfectly cater to
the safety needs of the employees and the safety of the people visiting the zoo. They have
supposedly made profitability their priority rather than making safety of the employees and
visitors a priority. I would like to stand with the decision that I have made and would likely to
comply my decision by the same as it was the unethical from the part of the management to
pass a decision on the ground that was made. The zoo will most probably be boycotted as
well as the potential visitors would be aware of the scenario and would not be willing to
sacrifice their safety and visit the zoo. Hence, it is going to be difficult for both the
organizations to be sustainable in the future.
The Majestic Hotels case
I am able to identify the ethical issue in a better way in the majestic hotel case. The
woman called Adele had the requisite skills and qualifications to hold a position in the
Majestic Hotels and Resorts Company. She faced competition from David who was already
an employee of the Majestic Hotels and Resorts Company. The latter educational
qualification and experience in the field were much smaller than Adele, however, he was on
the receiving end of the position of the job. The Chairperson of the company though that the
employees Adele being a woman would not be able to cope with the dynamic needs that the
position would demand. Furthermore, she was judged and it was opined by the former that
she was good but not good enough. The values of the chairperson are misaligned according to
my perception. While issues such as inclusion and diversity are being carried out by
numerous organizations, the case highlights issues that are still existent in the industry that is

believed to be unbiased. I disagree with the decision of the chair person and the ground on
which she was not selected. Women have been subject to various achievements in various
industries (Fotopoulou, 2016). It can be said that women are just as competent just as men.
However, it has been found that the leader of the company is unaware of the issues related to
the success of women. Hence, the have failed to implement activities treated it the same.
This, communicates negative attitudes of the leaders of the company and the value that the
organisation stands for. Hence, in order to gain the acceptance of people the policies related
to inclusion and acceptance should be incorporate into the framework of the business.
Moreover, it is my opinion that the function of the leaders and the style of leadership
employed by them determines the viability of the culture of the organisation (Whelan, 2013).
Thus, they leaders should adjudge employee effectively and pass judgments effectively. As a
result of the events that transpired in the majestic hotel will highlight the inefficacy of the
leaders and will highlight the organization as an unsuitable employer (Daya, 2014). The case
that transpired was highly unethical for the part of the management of the company as a result
of which I would be sticking to the decision that is had already taken.
On a concluding note it can be said that catering to the needs of the ethical code of
standards is necessary and it determines the sustainability of the organisation in the long run.
Issues such as the gender biased inference on Adele regardless of the fact that she was more
competent than David, highlighted the efforts of the company and will make them an
unsuitable employer in the market of employment. For, the tiger case, it must be directed
towards the management of the zoo whose inattention resulted in the mishap. This shows lack
of affiliation of the zoo towards the safety of the visitors. Rather, a revenue-oriented
mentality was witnessed and inferred in the case. According to the value questionnaire and
the mild cognitive impairment, the latter reflected that the highest score was derived in
admitting mistakes and acknowledging failures. However I found that the decision that was
