Why it is necessary to identify the leadership values?
The values and principles of the leadership are the most important criteria to judge
effectiveness of leaders of Ausway. Adequate recognition of the values and principles
enables the leader of the said company to behave in the most ethical manner towards the
organisation as a whole (Fry, 2003). The values and principles that a leader believes in define
his true character.
A leader must determine and prioritise the values and ethics that are important for his
organisation. There is a wide set of qualities that every leader must possess. As a leader of
Ausway, following are the qualities that will be possessed and prioritised by me:
Responsibility: It is quite necessary for the leader to assume his absolute responsibility
towards his ethical and professional duties towards his organisation. When a leader his clear
about his own responsibilities, he can effectively assign the work responsibility to his
subordinates (Sergiovanni, 2007).
Optimism: If a leader is not confident or positive enough about the organisation, he would
not be able to influence or motivate his team to adopt new challenges (Beck & Cowan 2014).
Dedication: A leader serves as a role model for his followers hence dedication towards work
on part of a leader inspires his subordinates to stay dedicated towards all the functions they
are expected to perform.
Loyalty: A loyal leader creates a loyal workforce for an organisation. The leader must be
loyal in all the actions he undertakes during the course of business so as to motivate and
develop a sense of morality among his subordinates.

Team work: Since in an organisation there are certain number of employees performing their
functions under a leader, it is necessary for the leader to organise his team in such a way that
it contributes to the overall sound performance of the organisation (House, Hanges, Javidan,
Dorfman & Gupta, 2004).
Advice to someone who feels that his or her values conflict with a
direct supervisor or an employee
We would suggest that the person should work in the interest of overall organisation and not
in the interest of a particular person or motive. He must formulate only such values that align
with the ultimate objectives of the business as well as the business ethics so as to resolve the
conflicts (George, 2003).
