INTRODUCTION
Reflection model may be defined as a structured process which is used to guide situational and
personal experience along with its improvement. It is a concept that emphasis on individual’s
awareness about his past experience and belief. This model helps individual in understanding
their own thinking and making own strategies based on skills and knowledge. It also helps in
self-development and to enhance knowledge based on previous experience. It enables in taking
effective decision with learning from past experiences and incidents. This project will cover self-
reflection and model used to demonstrate strengths and weaknesses in relation to teamwork.
Further it will cover the role that was taken by me and others and how efforts shape outcomes of
group.
TASK
Johns’ Model of Reflection
Description
My name is Alex and this model helped me a lot in making this reflection more effective and
meaningful. My teacher gave me project on Management and provided with a project. I was
assigned with a team having eight students of my class. I am havig all responsibility of all tem
members and must ensure that each team member contribute efforts towards completion of
project. My colleagues were very supportive and they appreciated me for becoming leader of
their team. I was very happy to become leader as I have relevant skills that makes me a good
leader.
Key Issues
As I was the leader of team and have faced many challenges during this task. At first I don’t
know from where to begin and what are the resources required to complete task. I was nervous as
this was the first time that I am having this responsibility. I will be responsible for failure of this
project. I was not aware about management much as it was new for me and for my team mates.
But I have decided to gain skills that are required t complete this project. Most of the things are
new for me but my team mates are very good and supportive at every level of this project. The
major issue that I have faced is lack of management knowledge and me and my team members

debated on this issue and come to point that they will take help of their teachers and internet to
get relevant information for completion of given project.
Reflection
While I was given the opportunity of leader. I wanted to complete my project and try to build
time management skills and critical thinking skills. I will also get benefitted from this project vs
I can assess my strengths and weaknesses and can work upon them in order to overcome those
weaknesses. I want to be first in my class with effective project completion. I did this bexcause
want to be a good leader in my future and for that it is needed to have all key skills that makes
me a good leader. Me and my colleagues had taken help of internet articles and teachers in order
to make project more effective. Whenever we face any difficulty in any case in internet articles
we have asked to my teacher and they have guided us in a very polite manner. This action made
a positive impact on my team mates as they are also enhancing their knowledge and skills am
feeling very good while I was a leader. This was first time and I took this responsibility as an
opportunity rather than burden. This helps me in becoming a good leader who can direct its
teammates towards success. This experience will remain unforgettable as valuable time spent
with my team and I have gained so much of knowledge from my team members and teachers. I
can come to know that there are various skills in which I am lacking and will try to overcome in
a short period of time. My team members also feel valued as they are getting an open platform
which allows them to share their views and opinions. This eliminates their shyness and creates
sense of self confident. This makes them confident along with feeling as an important part of
team. It also helps me and them to build a healthy relation with my teachers. Following are my
strengths and weakness while I was on working on given project.
Strengths
While working on this project I have come to know that I am good at decision
making skill which makes me a good thinker. I go in the root cause of any issue
and find the best alternative from a pool of many.
My coaching leadership style makes me a good leader as I have ability to guide
and direct my team mates towards attainment of goals.

I am lacking in time management skill as I go deeply in solving issue that
sometimes delays my work. I want to enhance this skill so that I can
effectively manage my time along with performing various tasks or project.
I am not good at creative thinking and cannot think out of box which limits
my growth. I prefer simple solution for every problem and do not think with a
creative view. I want to upgrade this kill that makes me creative leader and
can provide with unique ideas to every problem.
Influencing factors
There are various factors that influenced my decision making such as differentiation in opinions
among team members. As everyone is having own opinion and thoughts that creates
complexities in taking decision. If I choose opinion of one team mates then it may be possible
that other may feel devalued. Lack of proper management knowledge also affects my work. As I
have better decision making skill that helped me in taking good decision. I analyse all resources
and apply in my project in order to accomplish before meeting deadlines. Some of the factors
affects project in positive and some in negative aspect. One of my team member is having time
coordination skill that allows me to work within given time and I can manage my task in an
effective manner.
Alternative strategies
As the decision was taken by me is good but in some cases I have assumed some decision to
work without validating their efficiency. I can take training sessions of management too which
would make project more effective. I have this choice of choosing a right mentor who guide us in
completion of task. The other alternative that I can go for is taking help from senior as they have
go through stage and can better explain the concepts of management. If I would go for this
option, I can make this project more effective and can learn more skills that are required for this
project. This will aid team building spirit in me.

Learning
This learning I can use in my future when I become a manager at a reputes company. As the
skills that I have gained through this project will help me in managing time with activities and I
can take critical decision whenever my team faces any issue. These skills will make me a good
leader. This experience is really good for me as I have learned so many skills through given
project as well as assist in determining my weakness. Now I can formulate effective strategies
and will surely work upon them in order to overcome those weaknesses. I have learned from my
mistakes and will try to not do whenever I face similar situation in my future. I can feel change
in myself as I have groomed and enhanced my skills that I can use whenever I become a
manager. I have acquired skills from my colleagues and their support will remain unforgettable.
The efforts that are contributed in given projects are more than expected. All the team members
try their best to make project effective. Their efforts reflects in project outcome as my team have
got first place in project. My teachers applauded me for project. This makes me happy and I feel
valued and I have thanked my team members for their valuable contribution in making project
good.
CONCLUSION
From the above refection it was concluded that I am lacking in time management skill that I have
to overcome in upcoming two months. This will help me in managing my time with task. I can
effectively manage time and will try to complete any given task before meeting deadlines. Johns’
Reflective model helps me in defining project experienced 6that I have faced during my
academics. By this I can come to know that how can I effectively manage my team and keeps
them motivated towards work. I have analysed team members plays an important role in carrying
out functions based on their skills and knowledge.
