INTRODUCTION
Leadership can be defined as the process with the help of which an individual influences
other individuals in the way in which he wants from them to do. The assignment will make its
focus on presenting findings of five sources on leadership.

Article 1: Leadership Style and Patient Safety: Implications for Nurse Managers
Authors: Merrill
Findings: The findings of this research includes about the importance of transformational
leadership style which is a positive contributor top safety of climate and on the other hand, the
impact of Laiseez Faire Leadership Style has been shown as negatively on the working of an
organisation.
Article 2: Emotional Intelligence and Transformational Leadership in Nurse Managers
Authors: Spano-Szekely, Lauraine D.N.P. and Quinn Griffin
Research Findings: From the following research, it has been made clear that Emotional
Intelligence is positively related to Transformational Leadership and outcome measures of extra
effort, effectiveness and satisfaction and significantly negatively correlated with Laiseez Faire
Leadership Style. So the positive relationship which was found in between Transformational
Leadership and Emotional Intelligence in relation to advanced learning and administrative
certification.
Article 3: Management and leadership competence in hospitals: a systematic literature review
Authors: Vuokko Pihlainen, Tuula Kivinen and Johanna Lammintakanen
Research Findings: The characteristics of management and leadership competence were
categorised into the following groups: health care context related operational and general. With
the help of leadership and management, it has been made possible to make improvement in the
working processes of the organisation as well as in the working environment also. Along with
this, it has also been discussed about the use of different leadership styles with the help of which
improvements are made in the working processes of the organisation for the betterment, growth
and development of organisations.

influencing nursing burnout and engagement in both positive as well as negative impacts.

Research Findings: In the following research, it has been founded that there are different
leadership qualities and skills which are important for leaders in order to become an effective
leader that could help in the growth and development of an organisation. It includes skills such
as communication, clarity, integrity, problem solving ability. Along with this, there are also some
challenges which are faced by leaders such as qualified faculty, obtaining resources and team
building.

From the above report, it has been concluded that the use of effective leadership styles is
important for the growth and development of an organisation. It will also make organisations
