INTRODUCTION
Leadership management has to be effective in the market so that the internal working is
going to be present in the organization. The competition in the market is increasing therefore the
leaders have to make sure that there is going to be higher functioning and productivity in the
market which is going to be present. H&M is having 5,076 stores and was established in 1947.
The founder of the company is Erling Persson and the company is having its headquarters in
Stockholm, Sweden. The organization is having a net income of $2.106 billion and is serving
worldwide which is a very good competitive advantage which the organization has got for them.
The report is going to consist of a reflection on the leadership experience and requirement which
must be present with the help of a reflection model by Gibbs so that there is going to be higher
understanding which would be present.

Reflection on leader
As a leader there are a lot of skills which have to be developed so that there is going to be
higher performance which is going to be present. This way the company will be able to benefit
and not just that I would also have higher satisfaction with work which is going to be present.
The following report is going to discuss the reflection on leadership experience of myself in
H&M with the help of Gibbs reflective model so that there is going to be higher understanding
which is going to be present.
Description
As the leader there are a lot of changes which have to be adapted in a company especially in
an organisation like H&M which has established itself in the market effectively. As the leader I
have experienced a lot of troubles since I do not have the right skills to make sure that the
organization his benefiting due to my actions (Witjes, Vermeulen and Cramer, 2017). There is a
lot of improvement which I have to do in myself so that the company can benefit from it and
currently the organisation is not working effectively since the actions are not matching the
standards of the organisation. That is a lot of mismanagement which can occur due to a leader of

the organisation. Leaders also have to make a lot of decisions and planning for the employees in
order to make sure that the targets and goals are being achieved. There are a lot of roles and
responsibilities which are present of a leader in the company which would make the company be
able to have a higher competitive advantage. Being a part of this leadership experience in the
organisation I have established a lot of knowledge and right functioning of the leaders in the
company so that I can improve myself accordingly. H&M are having a lot of competitors in the
market and without having a strong internal environment the company will not be able to benefit
which is not a good factor for the company to have.
Feelings
I felt like the actions of speaking in the company were not matching the reputation and brand
value which the company has developed for them over the years. There are a lot of factors which
need to be improved in the company but due to my inexperience in this field and not having the
right skills is going to impact the organisation for having a long and successful run in the market.
It is easy to make sure that the targets are being matched and met by the company if the leader is
having the right skills. Skills like problem solving and communication are two very important
skills which are required in a leader to make sure that all the employees are aware of the changes
and targets which are being set by the management (Sales, Moliner and Francisco Amat, 2017). I
was thinking that I was not being able to use the right technique and measure at the right time of
the leader making the company have a negative impact. The experience level as a leader of me is
low therefore it is very important for me to observe the other leaders and make sure that I am
making the right decisions at the right time. I this experience took away my confidence level I
have in this field because using the theories in the practical world is difficult for an individual
and this is why I was not able to work effectively and efficiently in the organization as well
which is not a good factor for me.
Evaluation
From the experience I can say that I have gained a lot of knowledge which can help me
improve the factors which are very important in a leader. Leader has to make sure that there is a
good relationship which is being maintained in the workforce so that the company will be able to
benefit from it. The bad experience which I came across was that the workforce was not being

well maintained because of the skills and knowledge I had used in an organisation which was so
well established. There were a lot of good and bad moments as a leader in the company because I
had the right knowledge they thought I was being able to maintain the employees (Turner, 2016).
There are a lot of employees which have to be well monitored and controlled in the organisation
so that that is going to be a balance and maintenance of the productivity and operation. The
leader has to make sure that they are taking the right measures in order to make the employees be
able to get what they need and the satisfaction level is present in the organisation making the
company have a higher retention level which is going to be present of the employees. Employees
of H&M are not well maintained and the quality of the products can get affected therefore there
is a lot of pressure which is present on the leader of the company which needs to be reduced so
that the leaders of the company will be able to give in their best which is going to be good for the
overall development of the organization.
Analysis
From the situation I can analyse that there are still a lot of skills which I need to develop in
order to make sure that the organisation is being well maintained and matching to their
expectations and standards. That is a set standard which all the organizations have for themselves
which as a leader I have to make sure that they are being fulfilled. Due to the lack of
communication there were a lot of issues which I faced in the company and that was not good for
the productivity and operations as well. Improvement in the leader should also be present which
is going to make the company have a higher profitability (Kunaviktikul, Turale and Stone, 2018).
It is very important that the company is benefiting because of my skills and the knowledge I have
as a leader which is going to make the company have a better brand value in the market. The
employees are not well motivated and the relationship which we shared was not as healthy as I
had expected since as a leader there are a lot of power and responsibilities which come. From
this situation I can make out that there are still a lot of skills and improvement which is required
for me to make which is going to make the company be able to benefit from the factors which
are important in the organization.

I should have experienced more in this field of leadership which would have made my
working experience even more satisfied. I was not very satisfied with the work I had done in the
company because the standards of the company were not being able to match by me. Do this
experience has given me a lot of knowledge and right actions can be planned by meat in order to
achieve these factors. There has to be a sense of direction which needs to be present in me so that
I can improve all these factors which I have analysed from the report about myself (Khoza,
2016). From the report I have understood that there are a lot of skills which need to be developed
an improved in me with the right framework in order to make sure that I will be able to achieve
all the targets and goals I have set for myself. As a leader I can make sure that the skills are
improving in me making sure that the company is going to benefit from it and not just that I
would also be able to benefit and be satisfied with the goals and targets I have set for myself.

It is very important for me to know all the weaknesses and strengths I have in the skills
which are present so that there is going to be higher performance which is going to be present.
Having an action plan is going to make me understand the sense of direction which I should be
having which is going to be good for the further aims and targets to be matched (Chen, 2020).
