INTRODUCTION
It is important for a business to have good leadership and management in order to achieve
the desired goals and objectives. Below explored is the comparison and contrast of leadership
and management styles used within an organisation. Along with it, the below write up explains
which leadership style is suitable for modern global organisation and the reason behind why this
style is suitable and useful for the organisational betterment. The exploration will help one to
evaluate the importance of both leadership and management. Also, to evaluate what leadership
style is better and effective for the overall organisational growth and development (Winston,
2018).

1. Comparison and contrast of two chosen styles of leadership
Below mentioned are the different leadership and styles and their comparison:
Trait style of leadership: The trait theory of leadership explores the characteristics of
both successful and unsuccessful leaders. The theory is used in predicting the effectiveness of
leadership. The arrived results from the lists of traits are later compared to the those of the
potential leaders in order to assess the likelihood of failure and success both. The physiological
traits which are used in this leadership are the identification of appearance, weigh and height.
The demographic traits used are education, age, socio economic background. Other traits such as
personality, intellect, judgement, task-relation and social characteristics are also used to
determine the effectiveness of the leader.
Behaviour style of leadership: The behavioural theory of leadership focuses on the study
of a specific leader's behaviour. The style asserts that the leader's behaviour is the best predictor
of the influence of his leadership. Also, it is the best determinant of the success of a leader's
leadership. The behaviour of the leadership is best determined by the usage of specific
techniques to judge the leadership. It makes it easy for the one to understand the importance of a
leader and his used leadership style from the usage of behavioural theory of leadership (Tal and
Gordon, 2016).

The trait theory is said to be one of the best
theories that can be used in the new world.
Today's leaders and managers tend to have
different characteristics which can make it easy
for one to understand and determine the best
traits in a leader. Its application is very simple
and effective as well (Antonakis and Day,
2017).
Behaviour theory analyses the behaviours of
particular leader. The behaviour of a leader is
used in this style of leadership to understand
how efficient he in particular is. Unlike trait
theory, it is hard to determine the efficiency
and effectiveness of a leader only from
analysing his behaviour.
2. The best suitable style for modern global organisation
The trait style of leadership is one of the best style for modern global organisation. It is
because this leadership style makes use of the traits that a leader has acquired overtime from
his/her hard work. The traits style focuses of the prediction of effectiveness of a leader from the
traits such as physiological, demographic, intellectual etc. These traits are necessary in a modern
global organisation because the physiological, demographic, intellectual etc. traits identify the
core of one's ability to transform the working environment. Along with it, it makes it easy for an
organisation to adapt with a leader that holds better traits and leads it towards achieving
organisational goals and objectives (Nichols and Cottrell, 2014).

The above report concludes the importance of leadership within an organisation. From
the analysis and evaluation done from the comparison and contrast done of trait and behaviour
styles of leadership. It has been found out that the Traits theory of leadership is one of the best
theory that can be used in new world organisation's in order to develop a better leadership. Along
with it, the done comparison showcases the difference between Trait and behavioural style of
leadership and explains how they are different from each other. At last, it has been found out that
Trait style of leadership is one of the best leadership styles.
