Introduction
Poor leadership practices not only bring the negative impact on organizational culture but
also it brings the negative impact on the organizational performance (De Ruiter et al., 2018).
Based on the leadership style and its implementation processes, the leadership issues are being
developed. Bad leadership brings the negative impact on organizational abilities, which drives
the employee retention process in the workplace. The purpose of this study is to shed light on
different leadership issues and its impact on the organizational performance. In the end of this
study, different recommendations have been provided, which are important for introducing
development plan.
Discussion
Analyzing the complexity of today’s business world, it cannot be denied that CEO of the
organizations don’t get proper scope for communicating in multiple level (Mayfield & Mayfield,
2017). The competitive business environment, it developing an effective organizational culture
has become necessary for managing the business operations in the right manner.
Intercommunication skill of a leader can play an effective role for driving the positive
organizational culture in the workplace. Based on the self-analysis process and the feedbacks
collected from others, it can be said that communication has become the major barrier for
implementing the leadership strategies in the workplace. In the analysis, it has been identified
that due to lack of understanding regarding the needs and demand of individuals’, the current
situation in the company has got affected. In the words of Eagly and Heilman (2016), due to lack
of communication between the team members and the team leader, it has become challenging for
sharing the knowledge regarding the organizational goals. Effective leadership practices not only
drives the professional growth, but also it plays an important role for managing the personal

growth of individuals. In that case, it can be said that it is important responsibility of a leader for
making the engagement of individuals towards achieving the organizational goals. However, due
to the communication failure, it becomes challenging for the leader to develop a strong image on
team members’ mind. A true leader not only motivates others, but also develops his positive
image on team members’ mind so that they can consider him as an idol. It cannot be denied that
the process of communication plays and important role for transmitting the information and idea
to the receiver. With this initiative, it becomes easier for the sender to make people understand
about the leader’ thought process. By continuing this, it can be said that the leadership style also
has a strong impact on the group communication process. The competitive business
environment, it developing an effective organizational culture has become necessary for
managing the business operations in the right manner. Intercommunication skill of a leader can
play an effective role for driving the positive organizational culture in the workplace.
According to Clohisy, Yaszemski and Lipman (2017), in the current globalized business
environment, it is very common for the organizations to have diversified working culture. In the
diversified working culture, ethical issues have become the major concern for the management.
The communicational issue between the leader and team members makes the situation more
difficult to handle. Analyzing the communication issue of a leader, it has been identified that
different vulnerable situation in the workplace, creates the communication barrier. Some of the
cases, for avoiding the risk factors and playing safe, the leaders avoid the interaction process. In
this situation, it brings thee negative impact on organizational performance. In the competitive
business environment, managing the operational process in proper manner, it is very important
for a leader to be highly skilled and experienced (Gillespie et al., 2017). Based on the knowledge
gathered from the experience, the leader gains the ability for solving the organizational

positive leader should have a clear vision that can help the person for encouraging others towards
contributing in organizational goals (Meng, Jin & Hung-Baesecke, 2016). Based on the analysis,
it has been identified that due to lack of understanding regarding the organizational vision, it
has become major barrier for a leader in the workplace. It is true that leadership vision can be
considered as the important parameter for manifesting values, beliefs and goals of the
organizational leader. A clear vision of a leader also plays an important role for ensuring the
employee engagement towards achieving the organizational goals. However, in the analysis, it
has been identified that due to lack of transparency regarding the organizational vision, its
attainability of the plan creates the biggest concern among the employees. Vision is always being
developed based on the ability of individuals who are associated with the organization. By
continuing this, it can be said that vision is far different from dreams. Vision is being developed
based on the reality, in that case, due to lack of understanding regarding the vision, it becomes
tough for the leader to make others understand regarding the importance of implementing vision
initiatives.
Irwin, Bliss and Poole (2018), stated that Lack of confidence is being considered as
another important leadership issue, which can drive negative impact on organizational
performance. A confident leader has the ability for making difference in case of bringing positive
growth in the workplace. By continuing this, it can be said that lack of confidence ion a leader

opined that due to lack of confidence, fear for getting fired, creates barriers for implementing the
new ideas in the workplace. Lack of confidence in a leader, reduces the ability for problem
solving. In this situation, it becomes challenging to motivate others towards improving their
performance. On the other hand, lack of confidence in a leader makes the person internally weak,
which increases the stress and anxiety in the workplace. Doubt in own abilities create the
psychological concern that drives the negative impact in the organizational performance. By
continuing this, it cannot be denied that a true leader should have the behavioral characteristics
for handling both the success and failure of the organization. In case of facing the failure,
confidence level of the leader gets decreased. In this situation, the risk taking ability of thee
leader gets decreased. In the competitive business environment, accepting the challenging
business situation has become necessary for making the sustainable position in the market. It
cannot be denied that lack of risk taking ability not only makes the leader weak, but also it
creates the negative impact on followers mind. Due to lack of confidence, the motivational
factors in the workplace gets affected, which directly influence the employee turnover rate.
People do not life to work under a person, who is not enough motivated. In this situation, the
leader not only fails in performing job responsibilities bit also the leader fails to manage the
personal development responsibility of the team members. Lack of confidence, create the poor
relationship building processes in the workplace, which indirectly brings thee negative impact on
organizational culture. By continuing this, it can be said that based on the analysis, it can be said
that by bringing the dramatic effect on the career of the leader, the comfort zone of the leader
faces the challenging situation.

Conclusion and recommendation
In the above study, analyzing different leadership issues, it can be said lack of
communication, vision and lack of confidence are the major leadership barriers, which brings the
direct impact on organizational performance. Analyzing the complexity of business environment
and the leadership issues, it can be suggested that, in case of improving the internal
communication in the workplace, different meetings can be arranged. It will be beneficial for the
leader to get the scope for understanding the needs as well as demands of the team members. On
the other hand, improper vision approach, not only drive the organizational performance, but also
it can bring the dramatic changes in the employee empowerment process. In this situation,
understanding the abilities of individuals is very important for the leader so that attainable vision
can be introduced with them. Before making others understand regarding the visionary approach,
different sessions with the team members needs to be introduced. In order to increase confidence
of the leader, it is important for the leader for making strong network with other leaders. By
developing realistic self-awareness, it will be easier for the company to manage the entire
situation.
