INTRODUCTION
The leadership and management skills create appropriate outline for an
organisation. These skills provides proper guidelines and direction to the organisation in
achieving long term goal of the company. Leadership skill is the quality of an individual
to influence and control the actions of others with organisation. It facilitate in providing
clear set pattern of vision so that each employee can push their synchronised efforts in
achieving organisational goal. They deliver clear set of knowledge or information within
organisation and provides proper guidance to the each member in the organisation. On
the other hand engagement skills also play major role in the organisation. It improve
implementation of business strategy that helps in proper execution of business process.
By improving management skills company can achieve competitive advantage by
developing high quality of goods or services. It leads towards proper training of their
employee in an enterprise. Management skills develop employee skills and ability and
provide job satisfaction to employee. It convey effective communication and brings
coordination in operations of company workforce. This aid in achieving individual goal
along with company goal to boost overall performance of entity. A manager has also an

amazon. It was well organised company founded by Jeff Bezos in July, 1996. It mainly

The Amazon implement both leadership and management theory in their
operations to brings effectiveness in employee performance (Tran, 2020). The
execution of these theory and styles will leads towards overall growth of the company.
Here are some some management theories that is adopted by the managers of
Amazon. Scientific Management theory- In this theory mangers of the Amazon
examine workflows to enhance skilfulness in economic activity along with productivity in
employee. Mangers of Amazon mainly divide this theory into four parts. first one is
identifying each job on rule of thumb base so that each employee identified its own way
of performing job. Manager hire best employee and train them properly. After that
inspection of employee performance and provide appropriate guidance. At end work is
diversified between employee and management so that both can deliver their task
efficiently.
Theory X and Y- This theory involves two styles authoritarian and participative
style. In the company if managers examine that employee are disliking the work then
they adopt theory X. Where as if employee enjoying their work then manager adopt
theory Y. In theory X mangers implement authoritarian style so that employee who are
disliking turns their perception and gets highly motivated towards work (Ebot-Ashu,
2019). Mangers monitor their work and control performance of employee. Where as in
theory Y manger adopt participated style so that employee who are self motivated push
their limit towards productivity of company. In this employee ensure its responsibility
willingly and highly motivated towards achieving goal. Behavioural Management
Theory- This theory is also known as movement of human relations. Through this
management theory manger of company understand human behaviour at workplace. By
understanding human behaviour of its employee company can increase its productivity
and brings motivation among employee. This theory mainly focus on individual efforts
that turns in the favour of Amazon company.
Along with management theory Amazon also adopted leadership theory at their
workplace.

Transformational and Transactional leadership- In transactional leadership
Amazon mainly focus on its business process, controlling employee performance and
provide appropriate framework in management that improves overall performance of
company where as Transformational leadership integrates communication coordination
and cooperation by encouraging employee of the Amazon. Both the leadership aids in
achieving objective of company. Transactional deals with how work is to be done, on
the other hand transformational encourage employee to push their limits (Filyasova,
2019). Leaders in transnational aim towards on goal of company and use rewards to
encourage employee. In transformation leaders aim towards achieving vision of
company. Leaders uses tool of enthusiasm to encourage employee of company.
Through transactional leadership style Amazon performing well in diversifies situation.
Leaders of company mainly shifts their strategy in innovative manner to deliver creativity
in their operations. The leaders of transformational boost confidence and morale of
employee for delivering product in more creative way. Charismatic Leadership – In
this leadership style, leaders of Amazon utilise effective communication skills,
attractiveness, power persuasive skills to influence employee of the company. With the
help of these leaders build connection among organisation so that each employee can
deliver value to the organisation in most difficult, diverse situation (Harrison, 2018). This
create positive environment in the organisation and brings collaboration in the activities
of the company. Leaders heard all then conflicts of employee and provide solution to
them to improve productivity in the Amazon.
Leadership and management both are used by Amazon to enhance
effectiveness and efficiency in its operations for overall development. Managers uses
management theories to provide proper direction to their employee. Managers support
their subordinates by using Scientific Management, Theory X and Y, Behavioural
Management Theory. These theory implement authoritarian style in their work culture.
They provide direction to their employee what type of work they gave to perform. They
are in the search of good ideas and active towards organisational change. They always
tends to be a hero in the organisation. They control their employee by deliver power in

oriented work style in its operations, on the other hand mangers are more concern on
task oriented structure. Leaders mainly focus on achievements of company where as
mangers focus on final result oriented. Mangers and leadership style are contrasting
concept of organising employee. Leadership mainly tends towards implementation of
new vision and provide appropriate direction within company. On the other hand
management control organisation resources with certain principle values.

negative impact on the minds of consumer. This will impact their profitability of company
in large context. Rate of high conversion ensures that company performing well as their
goods or services is purchased by their target audience. In context of Amazon they are
delivering good quality of products and their costumer are satisfied with its services,
they are doing well in conversion rate. Valid tracking rate aids company in improving its
performance. By valid tracking rate they scanned their courier and dispatch it on time.

theory, it involves two concept that affect motivation within the organisation. One is

concept also inspire employee to extend their limits. In the absence of hygiene it will
leads towards demotivation among employee. This theory will synchronised the efforts
of employee in achieving organisational goal. It combines leverage to the company to

motivation among entity where as low hygiene decrease the level of motivation.

their employee in return of its contribution of work. Amazon company also perform
leadership theories to brings positive impact on company performance. One of the good
example is transformational leaderships, it mainly refers to provide inspiration and
encouragement to its followers so that they will engage in the success of company. It
aims towards both fulfilment of individual or organisational objective. This will facilitates
workforce to moves forward in large context while setting strategy formulation. This will
leads towards inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, idealized influence and
individualised consideration. This will contributes integration of communication among
enterprise. This is one the best leadership theory that company practice to enhance its
productivity level in the enterprise.

leadership style that aim on creating quality and willingness of particular employee. It
