INTRODUCTION
The leadership plays a very significant and crucial role in the management of the
operations of the company (Bolman and Deal, 2017). The leadership will help in the better
handling of the various operations in a better way. The leadership will lead to the effective
management of the various operations that will help in the better handling of the different
operations in the business organisation. For this report, HEAT Industries is been taken as
organisation of context. It works in the advertising sector. The report will cover the effect of
leadership on the organisation (Northouse, 2018.).
Main Body
1. Refer the text book or journals for leadership and management in Media sector.
After visiting the library and conducting online research, Leadership: Theory and practice
is one of the book that is been referred for gaining the effective knowledge and idea about the
leadership and management operations in an organisation. It has deeply helped me to gain a
proper idea of the various measures that are been undertaken in the management of the various
leadership styles in the firm (Goleman, 2017).
2. Two definitions of leaderships with example
As per the opinion of Bolman and Deal, 2017, the effective leadership is the setting of the
new direction or vision and getting the proper guidance that will help in the effective handling of
the various operations in the company. The leader will look after the effective management of
the various business functions, that will lead to the better handling of the operations in the
company. Other than this, the effective handling of the various operations will lead to the
improvement in the overall efficiency of the business organisation like HEAT Industries (Ward,
2016).
Whereas, in views of Northouse, 2018, leadership is the existence of the effective
guidance that help a business organisation to meet the requirements of the user in a better way.
The effective leadership will help the company to get a detailed and clear idea about what actions
to take in order to meet the effective needs and demands of the consumers in a better way. This
will lead to the rise in the profitability and productivity of the company. Besides this, it helps in
the better management of the different operations and resources that are been taken into the
effective consideration by the company to develop as a better firm (Antonakisand Day, 2017).

As per the media and advertising, many leaders are present in the field to management
the various operations in an effective and significant manner. One such leader is Andrew Bloch,
who is the founder and Group MD of Frank PR. He is one of the most influential leader, who is
well known for the effective management of the various operations that helps in the better
handling of the various operations in his firm. He effectively guides and motivates its fellow
employee's to meet the targeted goals as effectively as possible and to provide the customers of
the company with the better quality of services that will help in the better management of various
leadership models and theories that are been practised in the company, to gain a better
profitability and productivity (Heifetz and Linsky, 2017). Apart from this, He looks after the
changing trends in the market and will adopt the effective measures in his organisation to cope
up with those changes to sustain the productivity and profitability along with the operational
efficiency of the company. Other than this, in the media sector the effective decision making
matters a lot and leader like him is known for their firm and effective decision making process
they undertake for the better growth and development of the company (Fairhurst and
Connaughton, 2014.).
3. Role of a manager in Media sector
The media manager will play very significant role in the operations of the company. They
will look after the various operations in a very effective way to maintain the productivity and
profitability of the company. They will perform the following functions in the company:
Planning and organising: They will plan and organise the various media activity that
will lead to the better management of the different operations in a better way. This will
help them top drive the business in a very effective way and improve the brand image of
the HEAT Industries.
Problem solving: The manager will look after the various issues or the drawbacks that
are prevailing in the organisation and will look after its effective solution to rectify them
efficiently (Renz and Herman, 2016). The better problem solving approach of a manager
will save the essential time and resources of the cited business firm.
Decision making: The managers will look after the better handling of the various
operation by supervising the decision-making process in the company. The effective
decision making helps in the better handling of the various operations help in the
maintaining of the various operations in a better way.

Communication: The managers will effectively handle the various operations that will
help in the effective communication process at HEAT Industries. They will act as the
interactive bridge or medium between the higher authority and the employee's at the
business firm. Besides this, they will look after the better interdepartmental
communication process for the better understanding and execution of the organisational

Various management styles are been taken into effective consideration at the HEAT
Industries that will lead to the better growth n the various operations of the company. This
management styles will help in the better growth and development of the different operations in
the company (Johnston and Marshall, 2016). Besides this, it helps in the effective handling of the
various operations that will help the firm to improve its efficiency and meet them in an effective
and significant manner that will help in the effective handling of various operations. In the
company, the better handling of various operations is very necessary that helps in the effective
management of the different functions leading to better profitability and productivity. Some
management or leadership styles that are been taken into consideration at HEAT Industries:
Autocratic: This type of the management style is present in the initial level of the
company where the managers or the higher authority will tell the firm to take into
considerations as the effective management of the various operations that will lead to the
better growth of the various operation's at HEAT Industries. This style consist of a boss
who will tell the fellow employees of the firm how and what to do (Priest and Gass,
2017). The employee failing to fulfil the targets will have to face severe consequences.
Also, the decision making will be liner and will not include the fellow employee's or
work force. But it may lead to the conflict between the management and the employee's.
Consultative: The consultative management style helps in the better management of the
different operations will help in the effective handling of the various operations at the
HEAT Industries. It will involve the employee's and the work force of the company, who
will participate actively in the decision making of the company and will give their
feedback for the changes to be made in organisation. It will reduce the chances of the
conflict within the organisation and will help in building the better relation between the
management and the employee's of the cited business firm (Tourish, 2014.).

Democratic: This involve the implementation of the proper operations that are been
taken into consideration by the company based on the majority in number or opinion at
HEAT Industries. This ensures that the proper decision is taken is been taken and
implemented in the firm, based on the agreement and consent of the majority of the work
force at the company. It helps to build a better bonding between the different employee's.
But, it doesn't have any specific employee or organisational role (Garrow, 2015.).
5. Explain the difference in leadership and management with example.
The leadership and the management are two different concepts, which are closely
interrelated to each other. The leadership is the quality possessed by an individual to influence
people to get the work done, willingly and effectively. While, on the other hand, management is
the process that is been taken into the effective consideration by a manager or a business
organisation as a whole, to manage various operations in order to get the proper handling of the
different operations in the company. In other words, it is the effective art to perform a work in
relation with others (Komives, 2016.). Some major difference between the Management and
leadership is as follows:
Management Leadership
It is the art or a process to managing and
coordinating the various tasks and operations
effectively
It is the skill set to influence and lead others to
get the work done.
It is effectively based on control by the
authority.
It is based on the trust level of the employee's
on the leaders.
It emphasis on the effective management of the

the company.
It is deeply affected by the extent of influence
of a leader over the people.
It helps in bringing the stability and
sustainability at HEAT Industries (Priest and
Gass, 2017).
It helps in the better adoption and execution of
the various changes that are been taken into
consideration by the business organisation.
