Answer- It is true that leadership and management can be conceptualised in number of ways.
Different organizations have different approaches or concepts of management and leadership.
In today’s dynamic environment, every organization has their own style of working that
cannot be define or have universal applicability. Similarly, leadership in every organization is
also different. For leadership, several styles can be followed. Some organizations prefer
democratic, transformation or some may prefer autocratic or transactional leadership style in
order to lead their team members. However, for a good management, managers are required
to respect their supervisors, workers, team members (Bratton & Gold, 2012). Besides this,
clear rules, and regulations are also required to be equipped by the management.
Question: How are leadership and management talent developed in your organisation?
Answer: In my organization, leadership and management talent is developed in number of
ways. It includes all the team members in taking the effective participation in decision-
making. In my organization, leaders have taken the talent management as their top priority.
They help us by giving their major time as well as energy for helping us in showing our talent
in various fields and task. It also provides us various type of task so that we can excel in
varied field (Canals, 2014). By assuring this, we also feel happy to work in different areas.
Due to the development of talent management through various leadership and management
approaches, it helps in getting the competitive advantage.
Question: Is learning underpinned by a normative ‘management by numbers’ approach and/or
is the political, social and economic context in which managers operate acknowledged?
Answer: Learning in the organization is underpinned through then political, economic and
social context. By ensuring the proper research regarding these forces, managers come to
know the changes that are going on in organization and how these changes affect the
organization. By undertaking these measures, managers in organization van respond to
various contexts in various ways. They can use the ad hoc or tactical responses that lead to
reacting to the event when it is occurred. They can also take the strategic approach by
adopting the various policies and procedures for reacting in effective manner. The managers
can also develop the learning by understanding how environmental forces can affect the

organization (Noe, Hollenbeck, Gerhart and Wright, 2017). The adoption of different strategy
for different condition also helps the managers in great way to learn various new things.
Question: How are you learning to become a better manager, and how has the underlying
approach of your organisation helped or hindered your development?
Answer: I am learning various aspects in the organization for becoming a better manager.
Firstly, the various type or training undertaken by organization is helping me in gaining
enough knowledge regarding various changes, and concepts. In addition to this, feedback
mechanism by the organization is also assisting me in knowing the areas where changes are
required. By providing the feedback, it corrects many approaches that are wrong. I also
benefit from the guidance and leadership of manager (Sitzmann and Weinhardt, 2018). By
understanding my manager behaviour and knowledge, it is helping me in greater way to
become a better manager. It also monitors me in my every work and offers the suggestions
for accomplishing the task in effective manner. It helps me in becoming confident and
skilled.
